How You’ll Spend Your Day

The Payroll Professional II is a vital contributor to ensuring a seamless, accurate, and positive payroll experience for all employees. In this role, the individual will lead the end-to-end coordination of payroll activities between our internal stakeholders and the external payroll provider—making sure every update, change, and approval is processed correctly and on time.

    • Lead end-to-end payroll coordination between internal stakeholders and external payroll providers.
    • Manage daily Time & Attendance (T&A) and scheduling data, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate payroll input.
    • Validate payroll data, variable pay items, statutory and company leave, and pre-payroll checks.
    • Support payroll provider coordination, reconcile variances, and contribute to payroll cycle control.
    • Maintain audit-ready payroll documentation, support statutory filings, and ensure compliance with policies, collective agreements, and data privacy standards.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for employees and managers on payroll and T&A matters.
    • Identify process improvements, streamline templates, and reduce retroactive corrections.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Diploma/Degree level education or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on payroll coordination or administration experience.
  • Strong background in T&A and scheduling management.
  • Experience with outsourced payroll providers preferred.
  • Proficiency in T&A/scheduler platforms and HRIS; advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, data validation). Knowledge of Shireburn Indigo platform a plus.
  • Understanding of payroll fundamentals, gross-to-net calculations, overtime/premiums, leave/absence rules, benefits, and basic accounting. Knowledge of collective labor agreements is a plus.
