The opportunity

This opportunity is for an Occupational Heatlh & Safety Professional to work within our Environment, Health and Safety department. The selected candidate will be reponsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) in compliance with ISO 45001:2018, company standards, and applicable EU and Maltese health and safety regulations. This role ensures a safe working environment, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in health and safety performance.

How you’ll spend your day

The selected candidate will spend their day managing and improving the site’s Occupational Health & Safety Management System by maintaining ISO 45001 compliance, updating documentation, and driving continual improvement initiatives. They will monitor regulatory requirements, conduct internal audits, assess workplace risks, and implement mitigation measures across chemical, biological, physical, and psychosocial hazards. Their day will also involve coordinating emergency preparedness activities, delivering safety training, tracking key OHS indicators, preparing regulatory reports, and liaising with employees, management, auditors, and authorities to promote a strong, compliant safety culture.

Your experience and qualifications

Skills: The ideal candidate must demonstrate strong analytical and project management skills, clear communication and training abilities, effective leadership in health and safety compliance and culture, the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in OHS roles within pharmaceutical or manufacturing environments. Proven experience with ISO 45001 implementation and audits. Strong knowledge of EU and Maltese health and safety regulations.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety (OHS) or Diploma in OHS. Registered as a Competent Person with OHSA or working towards registration. ISO 45001 Internal auditor or Lead Auditor certification preferred.
