The opportunity
As the Senior Manager, Business Applications - IT Lab Systems, you will be responsible for delivering, supporting, and managing IT Laboratory systems. These systems may be standalone or interfaced with other systems such as SAP. Your role will involve supporting global strategic projects and initiatives, installing standardized solutions at local sites, and supporting projects from implementation to ongoing management and support. You will work in alignment with global teams to maintain consistency and efficiency across all operations.
How you’ll spend your day
- Serve as the site expert on IT Lab systems.
- Act as the technical system owner responsible for local IT Lab systems.
- Assist users with system administrator tasks as necessary. Work within a local/global support model for day-to-day administration, ensuring data integrity.
- Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot local interfaces as needed.
- Maintain system integrity and ensure backup solutions are in place using standardized solutions from global or local ITMUs.
- Implement and manage other IT Lab systems as technology improvement demands increase. Collaborate with local business and Global Lab teams to avoid duplication of global solutions.
- Support projects directed through the ITMU, ensuring alignment and assessing/reporting risks and impacts. Review and consider new ways of working to ensure lean practices during project implementations. Define and roll out comprehensive, realistic training needs/requirements for each project.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for system implementation and maintenance, including GMP, computer systems validation, SOX, security, and risk. Generate and execute validation deliverables.
- Support regulatory and customer audits.
- Ensure appropriate service levels for IT Lab systems support are developed, implemented and monitored. Service model should include global teams, external partners, and software providers. Ensure support partners meet defined SLAs and provide timely resolutions.
Your experience and qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in IT within the pharmaceutical industry, or working with pharmaceutical clients
- Bachelor’s degree in computing, science, or a related field, or equivalent field experience
- Experience with IT Lab systems in a plus
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
- Strong process analysis and modelling skills
- Ability to think and work independently, and collaborate with internal and external project teams effectively
- Strong IT skills and capabilities with project management
- Highly self-motivated, adaptable, flexible, and resilient
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Croatian
- Compliance and validation experience (GxP, ITIL practices)
