PLIVA / Teva in Croatia has a century-long tradition as a successful manufacturing business. Job Description


Job Purpose


As a Senior Director, Sterile and Semisolid Production you will be in charge of manufacturing of all sterile and semisolid products that need to meet all quality requirements, be manufactured on time and in a safe and cost effective manner.


Main responsibilities


•    Manage all production activities so that the site meets customer needs and objectives (quality, cost, service, and safety)
•    Translate site’s plan to a detailed production schedule
•    Ensure workflow optimization and implement processes for manufacturing of new products
•    Manage crisis when necessary
•    Understand changes in business needs and align production accordingly
•    Ensure acceptable quality of all manufactured products and maintain environmental regulations and standards
•    Make sure equipment is available, qualified and ready and manage material flow
•    Lead a culture of operational excellence
•    Provide recommendations for new equipment and processes that lead to an efficient and effective production environment
•    Continuously look for new, innovative ways to increase productivity and efficiency and decrease cost
•    Develop and maintain systems for all elements of OPEX
•    Develop processes to meet changing business needs that are sustaining and adaptable
•    Translate the site’s strategic plan to Production long term plan (facilities, processes, systems, capacity plan)
•    Recommend technology and equipment to be used for specific operations
•    Design and modify practices and procedures when necessary
•    Look after the well being, safety and health of the workforce
•    Ensure employees' engagement and motivation to function successfully by fostering a team-based and caring environment and by being visible to all staff
•    Guarantee proper training is provided to guarantee certified, competent staff to accomplish the required tasks
•    Lead the production management team, track performance and develop talent
•    Be an influential member of the site management team who takes an active role in promoting cross-site initiatives, team work and collaboration across site’s functions
•    Translate the site strategic plan to develop a workforce plan (capabilities, roles, headcount, culture)
•    Develop the production management team to balance structural effectiveness with flexible capabilities
•    Empower team to ensure ability to manage the day to day activities and problems as well as uncertainty and changing business needs
•    Create an environment that encourages the shop floor employees to raise efficiency ideas and projects
•    Ensure knowledge of Teva’s strategy, direction and challenges
•    Be familiar with competition, industry trends and technologies in order to recommend creative and innovative solutions
•    Participate in global project groups and proactively share across the Teva Network  best practices, process improvements and lessons learned
•    Execute product transfers and material changes



•    Masters Degree – Pharma, Engineering or similar background
•    10+ years of relevant experience in a sterile production environment 
•    advanced knowledge of quality systems and cGMP, FDA, EMA, ICH, and other relevant regulations
•    experience in product and technology transfer
•    demonstrated leadership skills 
•    excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills 
•    understanding of financial management for operations
•    English language at the level of proficiency
