Job Description


Job Purpose

As a Site EHS Lead you will champion a sustainable EHS culture to ensure employee Safety & Health and to protect the Environment, in order to enable compliant operations and business effectiveness for entire Teva's Zagreb site.


Main responsibilities


•    Provide guidance to site managers and employees and conduct internal and support external audits to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements and design corrective and preventative action plans
•    Identify EHS risks, define proactive mitigations and ensure that site investment and changes in processes, equipment and systems are carried out in accordance with the concepts of EHS by design and relevant EHS requirements and cGMP
•    In collaboration with the site leadership team, create, implement, monitor and update the site EHS plan
•    Provide necessary information and data to site managers and supervisors, Global EHS and other internal and external stakeholders, in order to support the achievement of EHS objectives and enhance Teva’s reputation
•    Create and maintain an EHS culture throughout the site that inspires a proactive attitude and a firm belief that ‘target zero’ is achievable
•    Create a space where people can speak openly and are encouraged to present new ideas about EHS stewardship
•    Develop and implement training programs, provide coaching, expertise and guidance to managers and employees of the site
•    Lead continuous improvement in EHS using Operational Excellence principles and visible-felt  leadership to achieve 'target zero' goals and to enable compliant operations and business effectiveness
•    Identify, recruit, develop and retain qualified EHS professionals to provide EHS services to the Site
•    Implement managerial practices to ensure the EHS team’s high performance, modeling Teva's values and leadership framework
•    Serve as an influential member of the site leadership team, who impacts decision making and takes an active role in promoting cross-site initiatives, team work and collaboration across site functions
•    Bring global best practices into the site and actively share site perspective, knowledge and lessons learned to contribute and support a best-in-class professional level of EHS globally
•    Develop trusted and proactive relationships with regulatory agencies, local community and external suppliers to promote compliance and social responsibility, in Teva's business interest



•    Master's Degree – engineering degree or related science-based degree
•    10+ years of Advanced EHS experience in industrial environment, related to the large scale facility (pharmaceutical, food, petrochemical or similar industry)
•    Extensive professional knowledge in EHS area and practical experience with site EHS programs 
•    Experience in people management
•    Previous experience in international / matrix organisation is an advantage
•    English Proficiency - Business and EHS specific
•    Technical knowledge in EHS (such as: waste, water, air emissions, audit and inspection, industrial hygiene, hazard communication, ergonomics, lab safety, process safety and EHS management systems)
•    Knowledge of local current and upcoming legislation and current best EHS practices 
•    Knowledge of cGMP requirements for products, process and systems
•    Knowledge of OPEX principles and tools
