Job Description

Monitoring professional will join the team of monitoring professionals who are responsible for the daily operational support for the Micro Focus suite of products. This role will be responsible for handling monitoring & automation service requests and incidents, diagnosing and troubleshooting problems and proactively reviewing system stability and availability. In addition, the team members will be asked to join projects for upgrades, maintenance and other related activities as required.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide level 1-2 support for monitoring and\or automation services and requests. 
  • Maintenance and configuration of the Micro Focus suite.
  • Proactively monitor and ensure performance and availability.
  • Respond to incidents and take ownership of the tickets and work through to resolution.
  • Open problem ticket with device vendors and service providers and ensure timely resolution.
  • Perform configuration changes and maintenance activities.
  • Recommend and perform system upgrades and patching
  • Represent changes in CAB meetings.
  • Familiar with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes.
  • Follow Teva policies, procedures and GxP methodologies.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience or certification.
  • Strong understanding of networks, firewalls, DNS, etc.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in large environment monitoring
  • Basic understanding in ITIL Configuration Management – advantage
  • Scripting languages: PowerShell, Perl, Java – advantage.
  • Global enterprise experience preferred

  • Hands on experience with one or more of the Micro Focus monitoring products
    • NNMI
    • Sitescope
    • Operations Orchestrator
    • OMi and Operation Bridge components (e.g. OBM, OBA)
    • OMi / OBM event correlation
    • OBM / APM (user experience)
    • uCMDB (e.g. Implementing / Administration Discoveries, Enrichments, Reporting based on TQL, Interfaces and Knowledge uCMDB UDM Core CI Model)
  • Experience in deploying and integrating Micro Focus products
  • Scripting skills in one or more languages (e.g. Python, PowerShell, Groovy, etc.)
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage stressful situations.
  • Ability to develop good professional working relationships with IT colleagues.
  • Clear and confident communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of prioritizing and managing workload.
