The opportunity
This position is responsible for the managing smaller accounts and supporting the account management team across all classes of trade. The role will assist with the organic growth and strategy for new and existing accounts. Will be answerable, collaborative and entrepreneurial in planning, developing and supporting customer initiatives for these accounts. These strategies will span various product forms but the primary focus will be branded and generic pharmaceuticals. This position is expected to provide cross-functional support, problem solving, creative thinking and decision-making capabilities.

ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Achieve AOP (Annual Operating Plan) by delivering sales results while developing and executing a targeted revenue strategy. Meet or exceed all defined objectives.
• Recognize the difference between customers’ short-term demands and long-term priorities and liaise with internal partners in the contracting discussions.
• Oversee account performance by utilizing data analytic tools to identify opportunities, by creating new sales initiatives through both transactional and program-based selling.
• Ensuring that customer agreements are aligned with the division’s revenue, profit, and corporate objectives.
• Cultivates and maintains strong customer relationships with management through highly effective communication skills and delivers customized business solutions.
• Works alongside the Account Management representatives and provides regular updates on customer opportunities and strategies to execute against the business plan.
• Converses with leadership on the strategies and tactics being employed within assigned accounts by providing routine updates (both verbally and in written format).
Your experience and qualifications
Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.
Education/Certification/Experience Required:
• High School Diploma Required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 3+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
• 3+ years of experience in sales, account, and/or general management
• 3+ years of experience in and knowledge of various distribution and selling channels
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
• A commercially-minded account manager with institutional presence and marketplace experience.
• Understanding of pharmaceutical distribution in both the primary and secondary markets.
• Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing industry environment and possess the ability to manage the complexity inherent in the pharmaceutical business.
• Problem solving and issue resolution capabilities.
• Solid strategic skillset with demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategies based on competitive dynamics, economic goals and customer requirements/needs.
• Analytical with demonstrated ability to succeed in data-driven, process-oriented environment.
• Customer centric to understand account/market needs, while ensuring company revenue targets attained.
• Solid negotiation, collaboration and influencing skills, both internal and externally.
• Ability to interpret detailed financial analysis and high-level pattern recognition to drive sales growth.
• Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to deliver effective presentations to accounts/management.

• Sitting for extended periods at workstation or mobile equipment.
Visual Acuity:
• Perform activities such as computer work, preparing and analyzing data, and extensive reading.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
• May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed in the office and or on-site visits (i.e. safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.).
Compensation Data
The annual starting salary for this position is between $130,000 – 165,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
