The opportunity
POSITION SUMMARY: Under a moderate level of supervision, responsible for assisting DEA Compliance managers in supporting all DEA-registered sites in matters of compliance by providing continual risk-assessment and risk-management strategies and processes.
ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

- Proactively identify emerging risks and report to relevant stakeholders.
- Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures.
- Builds knowledge of the organization, processes, and customers.
- Identifies the prioritization of risks through reporting measures.
- Evaluates the adequacy of the company’s internal control framework in addressing risks and accomplishing the company’s goals and objectives.
- Conducts comprehensive audits of customer sales data to ensure suspicious customers are brought to management’s attention.
- Identifies training needs for risk management and contributes to awareness across the company.
- Suggests action plans to relevant stakeholders ensuring that risk mitigation efforts are proceeding as required.
- Responsible for monitoring new trends and developing proactive strategies and procedures to remain compliant with all State and Federal regulations.
- Ensure appropriate DEA records and reports are accurately completed and filed in accordance with DEA regulations and State requirements.
- Continually monitors various forms of public and private media for changes in state or federal controlled substance registration landscape. Researches current and developing regulations and attends training programs.
- Promotes early visibility of emerging DEA and state regulatory initiatives that impact the company and develops proactive strategies for compliant solutions.
- Assists management during DEA inspections.
Your experience and qualifications
- Job requires evening hours as deemed necessary a few times each month
- A hybrid model of remote and in office work. 3 days in office per week, 2 days remote per week
Education/Certification/Experience:
- Minimum of (5) years of middle to senior level experience in audit/reporting related functions.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with (5+) years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Advanced skillset in utilizing a variety of application systems (TPS, Cognos, Tableau, Excel, Microsoft Office)
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Departmental systems matter expert
- Effective project management skills, including project planning, stakeholder mapping, risk identification, tracking and execution.
- Has functional knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of DEA Compliance accomplishment
- Uses time effectively and efficiently.
- Concentrates efforts on the most important priorities
- Gets more done in less time than others
- Can attend to a broad range of activities and mulit-task
- Can effectively cope with change
- Can shift gears comfortably

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Periodic travel may be required throughout the US for audit and training purposes.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasional:
- Sitting for extended periods of time at work station or mobile equipment.
Visual Acuity:
- Perform activities such as computer work, preparing and analyzing data, and extensive reading.
