The opportunity

The position is responsible for The Senior Collection Associate, who will make outbound calls to customers to resolve balances deemed past due by the Accounts Receivable (AR) system. The AR System will manage customers' accounts according to defined Strategies. The Senior Collector will use the experience to identify customer's needs and provide solutions.

How you’ll spend your day

All areas of responsibility listed below are essential to the satisfactory performance of this position by any incumbents with reasonable accommodation if necessary. Any non-essential functions are assumed to be included in other related duties or assignments. 

•    Responsible for the follow-up and timely completion of the following action item according to the Strategy under which the account is managed.
•    Manage a Collection Portfolio of 3,000 + Accounts across Doctors and Pharmacies.  
•    Responsible for contacting assigned accounts for payments using the various methods defined by the Strategy under which the account is managed; communicate with accounts using system notifications.
•    Responsible for proper documentation in the AR system.
•    Must be able to analyze customer payment trends and make suggestions to mitigate account balances. Must have the ability to quickly review account history, payment, and credit information to articulate a resolution.
•    Resolves payment delay issues, deductions, and cash application issues that the customer has communicated to the Company, which either prevents payment or will result in a deduction.
•    Provides customer communication via telephone, computer, and written correspondence regarding account status and obtains payments or develops resolution plans up to and including payment.
•    Supports inter-departmental initiatives to ensure goals are met and make suggestions to improve collections effectiveness.
•    Process customer payments and provide customer documentation as needed.
•    Perform functions within established guidelines and release orders.
•    Performs related duties as assigned.

Your experience and qualifications

Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that fulfills the position's requirements will be considered. 

Education/Certification/Experience:
· HS Diploma Required, Associate’s degree Preferred
· Minimum of Five (5) years of business-to-business collections experience 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
               Knowledge of:
•    Business English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
•    Business and personal computer hardware and software applications.
•    Experience with customer portals, i.e., Retail Link Costco
•    Collections with a high-volume transaction company.
•    Must be proficient with Windows and Excel.

Skills in:
•    Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
•    Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
•    Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
•    Possess analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
•    Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication (several positions require Bilingual English/Spanish).
•    Work independently to achieve desired results and achieve goals.
•    Work flexible shifts as required and occasional weekends.
