Job Description

 In this role you will lead the Respiratory Global Medical Affairs Therapeutic Area (TA), provide Medico-scientific expertise and leadership for TEVA’s respiratory marketed product portfolio, late stage development compounds, the biologic pipeline, and the digital platform. You will provide a rigorous scientific and medical foundation for the acceptance and usage of Teva’s respiratory products and the preparation of the commercialization of the relevant therapeutic product(s) ensuring medical launch readiness; provide medico-scientific leadership in the ongoing life cycle management of marketed products. You will achieve this by ensuring Global Medical Plans are developed and maintained for the assets in scope, transferring the knowledge into the regions.  You will coordinate integrated strategic planning for the assigned medicines within Global Medical Affairs as well as with strategic partners in Commercial (including Marketing, Digital, Market Access, Market Insight), Health Economics & Outcomes Research, Clinical Development, Biostatistics, Project Management, and Regulatory Affairs.  You will represent the Respiratory TA in strategic discussions regarding lifecycle management, clinical research, market access, and health economics and outcomes research as well as dissemination of medico-scientific data planning.  Additionally, you will provide medical/clinical expertise for business development opportunities, therapy area strategy development, therapy area legal matters, and medication portfolio optimization.  You will provide medical leadership in clinical development all the way from inception of the TPP (target product profile) to the execution of the clinical development program including and through post-marketing studies.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Global Medical Affairs Therapeutic Area Respiratory and provide Medico-scientific expertise and leadership for Teva’s respiratory marketed product portfolio, biologic portfolio, the digital platform, and late stage development compounds
  • Be responsible for the execution of the Global Medical Affairs plan.  These will include responsibilities such as PhaseIIIb/IV trial activities (such as protocol development, medical governance); scientific congress activities (such as medical symposium, presentation of abstracts and or posters); leadership in developing publication strategy and engagement strategy with external experts and relevant external bodies,  including patient organisations where appropriate.  Also review of Investigator Sponsored Studies and real-world evidence (RWE) activities.
  • Provide translation and seamless execution of global medical strategy into Regional Medical Affairs plans, from initiation of regional pre-launch activities to several years post-launch
  • Lead Global Medical Strategy Team and member of Global Medical launch Team and Global Medical Matrix Teams
  • Advise clinical development with input on late stage development plans, target product profile, health economics and outcomes research needs, and lifecycle management. Provides medical leadership and expertise in the target development strategy
  • Partner with all relevant functions on compounds beginning at the time of  phase IIa/b development by providing Medical Affairs expertise and guidance on external stakeholder needs (patients, healthcare providers, and payers), mode of disease, clinical approach to management and treatment algorithms, and unmet need, to enable a trial program which can meet registration and pricing and reimbursement criteria

Qualifications


What you will bring to the role (minimum requirements)

  • Must have a pecialty in respiratory medicine, critical care or immunology 
  • MD, DO, or advanced practice practitioner degree required
  • At least 10 years of Pharmaceutical industry experience AND global product launch experience 
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in developing medical strategy and executing medical plans 

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years experience in drug development, clinical trial design, regulatory requirements, business development and life cycle management
