Job Description

Position Summary
The Bioprocess Associate in process development group will support all aspects of purification process development for Teva’s biologics pipeline, starting from bench-scale development activities to manufacturing of pre-clinical material in pilot scale lab.


Responsibilities

  • Support drug substance manufacturing process development activities by executing downstream purification steps at bench-scale and pilot-scale
  • Support stage appropriate downstream process development for Teva’s biologics pipeline ( Innovatives and biosimilars) and generate material for other groups within CMC and toxicology study
  • Support development of new purification technologies to improve the efficiency of biologics manufacturing process and reduce cost of good
  • Execute virus clearance study at 3rd party labs
  • Support cGMP clinical manufacturing campaigns in Biologics Manufacturing Facility when needed
  • Maintain a compliant laboratory operation in accordance with development protocols, internal procedures and policies
  • Assist in troubleshooting process and equipment issues and deviations
  • Record experiment results in lab notebooks in compliance to Good Documentation Practice, and perform basic data analysis as needed. 
  • Draft technical reports under supervision
  • Present data at internal team meetings and effectively communicate with supervisor(s)/project leads
  • Interact cross-functionally with Upstream, Analytical, Facilities and other internal functions to support process development activities
     

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Chemical engineering or Biotechnology or Chemistry or Biology or related field

Preferred Qualifications:
⦁    1-2 years of experience in protein purification process development
⦁    Understand principals of process scale chromatography (ion exchange, affinity, hydrophobic, etc) and filtration (normal flow (NFF) and tangential flow (TFF) operation
⦁    Experienced in using AKTA chromatography systems (both lab and process-scale) and UNICORN software
⦁    Experienced in using normal flow and tangential flow filtration skids
⦁    Good understanding of biologics process development and cGMP operation
⦁    Knowledge of protein characterization methods and analytical techniques
⦁    Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
⦁    Highly motivated individual with ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
⦁    Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and good interpersonal skills
