Our Team, Your Impact

The Cell Culture Process Development group within Biologics CMC is responsible for end-to-end upstream drug substance development across the biologics portfolio, supporting molecules from early development through commercialization and lifecycle management.

 

We are seeking an Associate Scientist to join our Cell Culture Process Development group within Drug Substance Development, Biologics CMC in West Chester, PA. This is a hands-on, lab-based role ideal for a motivated candidate with a strong foundation in mammalian cell culture and a passion for innovation in monoclonal antibody (mAb) production.

 

You will play a key role in independently designing and executing experiments that drive process understanding, optimization, and scale-up from early-stage development through commercial launch and life-cycle management. This position offers significant opportunities for technical growthcross-functional collaboration, and career advancement within Teva’s global R&D network.

How You’ll Spend Your Day

  • Independently design and execute mammalian cell culture experiments with strong scientific rationale.
  • Develop and optimize media and feed strategies to enhance cell growth and productivity.
  • Operate and scale processes using bioreactors (ambr 250, 3L, 50L, 200L).
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on operation of high throughput automated bioreactor systems (ie ambr250)
  • Utilize statistical modeling and automation tools to drive data-driven decisions.
  • Collaborate in a matrixed environment with cell line development, downstream, analytical, and manufacturing teams.
  • Author technical reports and contribute to regulatory submissions (IND/BLA).
  • Ensure timely execution, troubleshooting, and effective communication across project teams.

Your Skills and Experience

  • B.S. in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering, Cell Biology, or related field with 5+, or M.S. with same fields with 4+ years of relevant industry experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong hands-on experience in mammalian cell culture, media/feed development, and bioreactor operations.
  • Experience with automated or high-throughput bioreactor systems (e.g., ambr250).
  • Familiarity with statistical tools (e.g., DoE, JMP), data digitization, and automation platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and innovative environment.
  • Knowledge of cGMP principles and exposure to late-stage development is a plus.
