The Associate Scientist in the Bioassay Department of Biologics CMC peforms method development, troubleshooting, method qualification and routine sample testing of cell- and ELISA-based assays to support both clinical and commercial staged programs. This position provides exciting opportunities to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, participate in regulatroy submissions, and learn and execute a variety of assays. This role reports to an Associate Director of the Bioassay Department.

How You’ll Spend Your Day

•Develop, qualify, and troubleshoot cell-and ELISA-based methods, and transfer methods to internal and external GMP-compliant laboratories.
•Conduct routine sample testing and analysis of biologic products using cell-based and ELISA-based methods.
•Author and review SOPs, protocols, laboratory notebook records, and technical reports.
•Actively manage and maintain lab supplies and critical reagents (ordering/inventory/characterization).
•Participate in project meetings providing insights and status updates to the larger cross-functional team.
•Present data at internal/external meetings as needed.

Your Skills and Experience

Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.

Education/Experience:   
  • Require either a B.A. or B.S. in Molecular or Cell Biology, Biotechnology or related field and minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience, or M.S. in Molecular or Cell Biology, Biotechnology or related field and a minimum of 7 years of relevant industry experience
  • Hands-on experience working with mammalian cell cultures required

Skills:

• Flexible and adaptable: fast paced environment with changing timelines/priorities.
• Meticulous attention to detail in following procedures, preparing written documentation, and execution of experiments.
• Clear communication skills: able to share data and work as well as communicate issues/complications clearly.
• Highly cooperative/team player: matrixed lab environment (shared responsibilities).

Also Good to Have

•Familiarity working with/in controlled document systems.
•Experience with method standardization practices and optimization for GMP use.
•Familiarity with biosimilar and novel biologics product lifecycle and associated regulatory requirements.
