Mission and role

 

The Head of (m/f/d) Engineering provides strategic and operational leadership for all engineering functions at the biopharmaceutical manufacturing site and is responsible for the performance and results of the Engineering department in accordance with the site's strategy.
This role is responsible for ownership of all the plant and campus technical and maintenance aspects, provides guidance to the Site Leadership Team regarding engineering, implications on production capacity, resources, equipment and facilities.
In your new role you oversee the engineering maintenance and facility management activities, including engineering projects, production equipment, utilities and facility maintenance.  Furthermore you plan, validate, control and approve all engineering decisions, documentation, resources, budget and forecasts. 
You ensure that equipment, systems and all facility-related issues are adequately handled in compliance with Quality, EHS&S and cGMP guidelines, so system and manufacturing assets and equipment are reliable, available and preserve their value to accomplish the site's mission.
Last but not least you implement, localize and maintain Teva Engineering standards and EHS&S standards, ensuring site compliance with relevant global and local legislation and adherence to best practice as appropriate.

Who are we looking for

 

You have:

 

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior engineering leadership role within biopharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, or life sciences manufacturing.
  • Deep knowledge of FDA, EU GMP, and ICH regulations as they apply to pharmaceutical facilities and engineering systems.
  • Proven track record of building and leading high-performing, multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Experience with biopharmaceutical unit operations (upstream cell culture, downstream purification, fill-finish) highly preferred.
  • Expertise in pharmaceutical facility systems: HVAC, WFI/PW systems, clean steam, cleanrooms, CIP/SIP, process piping (ASME BPE).
  • Familiarity with digital manufacturing technologies (automation, MES, DCS, SCADA) is highly valued.
  • Exceptional executive presence with the ability to influence at all organizational levels, including C-suite and regulatory inspectors.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost estimation, and business case development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical issues for non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated change management and organizational transformation capabilities.
  • Very good written and spoken communication skills in English and preferably in German
