The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Supply Chain Director to lead and transform our commercial supply chain operations in Canada. As part of a major multinational pharmaceutical company with a diverse portfolio in both generics and innovative medicines, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless product availability, optimal inventory management, and efficient distribution to our customers. Leading a team of approximately 100 employees, you will drive supply chain excellence through strategic planning, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.

How you’ll spend your day

  • Oversee end-to-end commercial supply chain operations, including demand planning, inventory management, replenishment coordination, and distribution to customers across Canada.
  • Enable Canadian market to achieve sales, profit, and cost targets by ongoing, proactive, and high-performance supply chain support.
  • Control and own the Canadian Supply Chain KPIs, fostering a learning culture and implementing best practices in line with global strategies.
  • Improve Forecast Accuracy and Bias in collaboration with the Supply Chain Center of Excellence (CoE), driving sign-off processes and ensuring alignment with financial commitments.
  • Drive regional inventory initiatives to ensure adherence to inventory policies and optimize Finished Goods inventory using data-driven methodologies.
  • Support Global Supply Chain and Commercial teams in developing & implementing supply chain strategies to improve customer service and inventory allocation.
  • Ensure communication links between market and site supply chains work effectively to drive consistency, collaboration, and continuous improvement, particularly in forecasting, planning, S&OP, and S&OE.
  • Work with commercial teams to produce the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), quarterly RF/LRP updates, and financial forecasting alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
  • Manage and optimize logistics in Canada including self-operated distribution center and delivery to customers to balance service levels and cost efficiency, while managing and executing logistics cost-saving projects.
  • Responsible for EHS in our warehouses and distribution centers, for trade compliance in logistics in the local markets and responsible to manage the operations of 3PL.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Country supply chain team, fostering a culture of accountability, professional growth & employee engagement
  • Assess market supply chain teams’ capabilities, ensuring continuous skill development and alignment with global best practices.
  • Lead transformation initiatives, including automation, digitalization, and centralized supply chain functions, to enhance overall operational performance.

Your experience and qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent degree preferred; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain management within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or related industries.
  • Proven track record in leading large teams (100+ employees) and driving organizational transformation.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in demand planning, inventory optimization, and distribution logistics.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical supply chain regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in SAP, advanced analytics, and supply chain planning tools is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage complexity and change.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across different departments and levels.
  • Business acumen with a customer-oriented, proactive approach.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
