The opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Sr. Director, Business Development – Valuation to lead valuation efforts for licensing, partnerships, M&A, and strategic investments. This leader will play a critical role in shaping Teva’s Pivot to Growth strategy by providing rigorous financial and strategic analysis of external opportunities across the pharmaceutical and biotech landscape.

How you’ll spend your day

  • Valuation Leadership:
    Lead the development of financial models and valuation frameworks for potential deals, including licensing, acquisitions, divestitures, and collaborations.
  • Strategic Assessment:
    Evaluate external opportunities by integrating scientific, clinical, commercial, and financial insights to inform decision-making.
  • Deal Structuring:
    Partner with legal, finance, R&D, and commercial teams to structure and negotiate deal terms that align with corporate strategy and financial goals.
  • Market Intelligence:
    Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to identify and assess new business opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Work closely with internal stakeholders including R&D, Regulatory, Finance, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment on valuation assumptions and strategic fit.
  • Executive Communication:
    Present valuation analyses and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.  

Your experience and qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or Life Sciences (MBA, CFA, PhD, or equivalent preferred).
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in business development, corporate strategy, or investment banking within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Deep understanding of valuation methodologies (DCF, NPV, comparables, risk-adjusted models) and deal structuring.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and financial modeling skills.
  • Proven track record of leading complex transactions and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with early-stage and late-stage asset valuation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and clinical development pathways.
  • Prior involvement in licensing or M&A transactions in the life sciences sector.
