Our Team, Your Impact

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Research Assistant to join the Discovery Biology team at Teva Pharmaceuticals. In this role the successful candidate will directly contribute to the development of novel antibody therapeutics for a range of unmet clinical needs, working alongside experienced scientists in a globally recognised pharmaceutical organisation. The role offers strong development opportunities through close mentorship, hands‑on assay ownership, and exposure to cross‑disciplinary discovery teams. This role is ideally suited to an Honours graduate or early‑career researcher seeking hands‑on industry experience in biologics discovery.

How You’ll Spend Your Day

  • Design, develop and perform assays to inform lead antibody selection, including target specificity, function and potency
  • Maintain and culture mammalian cell lines, including establishing and managing cell banks and preparing assay-ready cells
  • Collect, analyse and interpret data to help provide recommendations to key stakeholders
  • Maintain detailed, accurate experimental records using electronic lab notebooks to support data-driven decision making
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project and site objectives
  • Summarize and present experimental data to senior scientists and management
  • Stay current with emerging scientific trends and technologies
  • Provide general research/laboratory support, including ordering and maintaining consumables and interacting with suppliers
  • Uphold compliance with health, safety, PC2, gene technology, and company policies

Your Skills and Experience

  • BSc with Honours or Masters in life sciences, biotechnology or related field plus two years’ laboratory experience
  • Demonstrated experience with utilising medium-to-high throughput cell-based assays
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture (cell lines and/or primary cells)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Familiarity with fundamental pharmacology, including dose-response analysis and basic statistical methods
  • Experience in immunology, cell biology, or pharmacology is highly regarded
  • Familiarity with immunoassays including flow cytometry, ELISA and functional cellular assays (e.g. proliferation, cytokine stimulation), desirable
  • Knowledge and application of general molecular and protein biology techniques, including protein expression and purification desirable
