In  August 2016 Actavis has been acquired by Teva Pharmaceutical. In Bulgaria we are the largest employer in the pharmaceutical industry with near 1700 employees in the two manufacturing plants (Dupnitsa and Troyan); sales and marketing organization and in a number of global corporate functions based in our country.  As a Teva company, in October 2020 Actavis has started the process of re-branding and anticipating the Teva brand.


We are looking for qualified and motivated candidate for the role of Director Transportation EU, based in Sofia, which is the regional center of excellence for all transportation in the Europe region, and the largest transportation team within Teva.

The Position:    


Director Transportation EU leads the ILC (International Logistic Center) is responsible for all transportations from or within Europe and all pertaining elements, such as GDP compliance governance, insurance & claim governance, invoicing and related documentation.  For this absolutly vital role we are looking for an experienced leader, who is versed with complexity and able to drive changes within the team and make his mark regionally and globally.  The successful candidate will report to Global Head of Transportation at Teva.


Main Responsibilities:


• Lead and grow the ILC managers and the team.  Practice good talent management in team, constantly build up and grow the team by recruiting right profiles, and ensuring appropriate training and delegation of challenging tasks to employees.
• Constantly drive tactical and strategic improvements through the logistic and organization to lower cost and/or improve service levels, through Kaizen and CI.
• Governing all shipments to all locations from sites and CMO´s along with the documentation management, LoC handling, COA´s, invoicing to markets. Insurance & claim governance, management of all CAPA related to Transportation. Booking of significant volumes of the EU transport, CMO´s, BG sites and other smaller sites as required.  
• Full control the activities of the TEVA trading entities in scope, such as of narcotics import and traffic through Europe, EU import and export and contract manufacturing logistics. All invoicing and CS.
• Lead CI improvements of the LLP partner and other key strategic LSP´s in region.
• Ensure global and designated department goals & objectives are collaboratively developed, communicated and measured.
• Driving adherence of GDP standards of external partners and internally on transport and documentation within ILC, sites and markets.


Main Requirements:


Education and Knowledge Requirements
• Education –Master’s degree, MBA, e.g. Logistics, Finance, International trade 
• Proven management record and professional experience – 6 years in the field of international trade, transport and logistics on a global level
• Professional certifications in Supply Chain is preferred e.g. from APICS (CSCP)
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (incl. Project and Visio), Exposure/experience with Supply chain concepts MRP, MRPII. Exposure / experience with ERP (Oracle/SAP), WMS (Manhattan) and WCS systems. Understanding of cGMP and SDLC methodology required


Skills and Capabilities

• Proven ability to provide leadership, mentorship and direction to direct reports as well as strong ability to influence team members from cross-functional departments / functions, to meet project / corporate goals
• Promote an understanding of the need to manage and adapt to change on an ongoing basis in order to maximize business performance and benefits from change initiatives
• Identify, define and lead strategic and operational activities within the value chain to create a competitive advantage and maintain shareholder value
• Ability to bring focus to process and system design, system development, testing, stakeholder management, communications and training within a project environment and support managing transition from current state to future vision
• Embrace ways of working, thinking and behaving necessary to build and maintain supply chain leadership.  In-depth knowledge and experience with logistics and distribution operations. 
• Strong communication skills (in writing / verbally) and issue resolution in a complex business environment


Travel Requirements

• The successful applicant must be willing and able to travel internationally.
