At Teva Runcorn, we develop, manufacture and market innovative and affordable medicines, specialising in sterile liquid products mainly used for treating respiratory conditions using Blow-Fill-Seal technology as well as injectable Combination Products such as our MS treatment Copaxone.

 

We are also home to two R&D centres and a Sterile Training Academy— a centre of excellence within Teva for sterile manufacturing, safety and compliance training.

A Day In The Life Of A Procurement Specialist

This role will act as a key partner to stakeholders in the functional areas within the organization in order to support the development of procurement strategies and achievement of savings and working capital goals aligned with Teva corporate strategy. whilst supporting the business in delivering products and services for the benefit of the end users of our products. The role supports the development of global category strategies for local deployment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day procurement support to the site, minimising all foreseeable risks from the supply base across all relevant direct and indirect categories and ensure continuity of supply whilst upholding and complying with the procurement policy. This will involve working closely with Supply Chain.
  • Ensure supply risks are mitigated locally and, when not possible, rapidly escalate to Regional and Global teams with detailed information, including risk assessments.
  • Drive initiatives that enable achievement of the business and financial goals such as: cost reduction and cost avoidance projects and working capital improvements..
  • Understand and align with key Stakeholders to drive value for the organization. Ensuring business continuity and uninterrupted, efficient product and services supplies. 
  • Play an on-site  role in communicating and training the procurement policy s across the manufacturing and R&D functions, as well as interfacing frequently with senior management cross functionally and divisionally.
  • Share best practices and wins across sub-categories and regions and within category groups.  Act as the site focal point for the development and implementation of Global/Regional category strategies. Provide feedback on the Procurement Process and Policy Implementation from both an application and practical perspective. Ensure any potential exceptional non-compliance is flagged early with supporting information. Foster and develop relationships with key suppliers to ensure alignment of key business, quality and compliance objectives to Teva’s Global strategic direction and local BU expectations.
  • Represent Global Procurement within local organizations and establish regular communication processes with key business stakeholders.
  • This is a diverse and varied role requiring competent communication at all levels in the business and an agile ‘can do’ approach.

Who Are We Looking For?

Do you have?

  • A degree level qualification

  • CIPS and MCIPS preferable

  • Experience in facility or services contract management.

  • A background in manufacturing is required

  • Direct and indirect procurement experience
