At Teva Runcorn, we develop, manufacture and market innovative and affordable medicines, specialising in sterile liquid products mainly used for treating respiratory conditions using Blow-Fill-Seal technology as well as injectable Combination Products. 

A Day In The Life Of A Manufacturing Operations Manager

The Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for driving Safety standards, Quality compliance, Regulatory standards, Performance and Customer Service improvements through leadership and development of a set team. Act as the responsible person outside of normal business hours, providing leadership for any incident that may occur on the site.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Safety. Drive strong Safety first culture. Zero reportable accidents/EHS events for value stream. A system of regular area review, good safety observations being raised and closed.

  2. Quality. Drive a Quality culture of right first time with a focus on continuously eliminating issues and deviations. All Quality actions closed on time, zero overdue. Zero internal and regulatory authorities’ audits with critical observations.

  3. People. Recruit, train, develop and coach all team members such that increased focus is put on pharmaceutical awareness and operating standards as well as job skills and knowledge. Strengthen capabilities of team by having ‘live’ development plans for all staff. High performance rewarded and poor performance dealt with via improvement plans to get staff back to successful performance.

  4. Performance. Responsible for delivery of set production outputs for filling, packing, releases, documentation standards, maintenance adherence and project activities. Analyse value stream performance and implement appropriate actions to utilise capacity and enhance standards.

  5. Customer service. To drive cycle time reduction and to aim for Zero out of stocks for value stream. As a site achieve set consolidated CSL target and out of stock SKU targets. Achieve cycle time and inventory reduction targets for value stream.

  6. Continuous Improvement. Drive the implementation of operational excellence the value stream.

Working Pattern

Your working patterns will be 7 shifts, 6am-6pm across a rolling 2 week period, consisting of...

  • Week 1- Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Week 2- Wednesday and Thursday

Who We Are Looking For

Do you have?

  • A degree in a Scientific or Engineering field or through proven technical competence/experience
  • Previous responsibility in growing, developing and managing large teams/divisions
  • Experience in managing change and continuous improvement through people
  • A wide technical base that can be applied in a Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment (Chemistry, microbiology etc)

 

Are you?

  • A strong communicator, motivator and team player with the ability to set and deliver high performance standards
  • Able to operate as part of an operations and supply chain team
  • A Leader - must be able to lead pharmaceutical compliance, standards and operational performance improvement 
  • Tenacious - able to influence and motivate people to achieve all supply chain goals
  • Technical - able to present the departmental activities and debate technical issues with confidence
