Job Description

Teva Pharmaceuticals, Biologics Division, located in Redwood City, is seeking a highly motivated immunologist to participate in the discovery and advancement of novel immuno-therapies for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune disease. 


As a Scientist within the Biologics Division, you will lead and support biotherapeutic drug discovery and investigate the mechanism of action of candidate lead molecules. You will be expected to independently design, execute and manage internal research projects, collaborate with other functional groups within the broader organization and contribute to external academic and industry collaborations. 


In addition, you will contribute to patent filings and publications and present research finding to various audiences including senior management.


What you will bring to the role:

  • PhD in Immunology or a closely related discipline  including tumor immunology, infectious disease or autoimmunity 
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience with contemporary immunological techniques, including isolation and stimulation of primary immune cells (of human and rodent origin), multi-color flow cytometry, immune cell-based assay development


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior post-doctoral research experience and training in either adaptive (T cell) or innate immunity (dendritic cell, NK cell and/or macrophage), either in an academic setting and/or in an industry drug discovery setting (biotech or pharma)
  • Prior experience in biotherapeutic discovery and preclinical development, together with a strong understanding of ligand-receptor biology is highly desirable
  • Prior experience in human immunology 
  • Prior experience working with mouse models of human immunity
  • Prior experience working with syngeneic tumor models to evaluate mechanisms of immune evasion, therapeutic efficacy and/or drug mechanism of action within the tumor microenvironment is highly desirable
  • Experience presenting scientific material to large groups
