Job Description

Research Associate—Cellular Immunology

 

Teva Pharmaceuticals, Biologics Division, located in Redwood City, is seeking a highly motivated research associate with a strong immunology background to participate in the discovery and validation of novel biotherapeutics for the treatment of cancer and inflammatory disease. 

 

Essential duties and responsibilities: 

 

Primary responsibilities will be the development, optimization and execution of immune cell-based assays to support biotherapeutic lead discovery and to investigate the mechanism of action of candidate lead molecules. The successful candidate will be expected to independently manage small projects, work to tight timelines and contribute to the management of laboratory operations.

Qualifications

BS or MA in immunology, cell biology, biochemistry or related field with 3-8 years of practical immunology experience in an industry setting (biotechnology or pharmaceutical).

Prior experience in contemporary immunological techniques, including isolation and stimulation of primary immune cells, multi-color flow cytometry, quantitative ELISA, proliferation assays, pathway specific cell-based reporter assays

Prior experience in biotherapeutic drug discovery together with a good understanding of ligand-receptor biology

Exceptional organizational, problem solving and collaborative skills

Must be self-motivated and proactive, able to multi-task, and detail oriented with good notebook practices

Must be able to work independently to meet tight timelines efficiently and productively

Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as effective listening and interpersonal skills

Prior experience in tumor immunology and/or T cell biology is highly desirable
