The opportunity

 

The Direct Procurement Cluster Lead actively manages and leads a specific cluster of countries within the direct procurement organization. He/She strives to generate and deliver ongoing value through year-over-year savings and to ensure the supply of the direct goods he/she is responsible for in the specific TAPI cluster. The Direct Procurement Cluster Lead will manage the direct procurement team within his/her cluster to ensure the implementation of regional category strategies that are aligned with TAPI corporate strategy and financial goals.  He/she will seek to ensure stability and security of supply that is in line with defined current and future business needs at lowest total cost. The Direct Procurement Cluster Lead will have a unique opportunity to shape the team , transforming it into a best-in-class professional team in terms of performance, structure, processes and team member development.
 

How you’ll spend your day

 

•    Single point of contact to the VP Procurement and Head of Direct Procurement for all procurement activities in all sites in the defined cluster 
•    Leading and mentoring the procurement team, foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
•    Creating and executing procurement strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives across the specified regions

•    Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors to ensure reliable supply chains and favorable terms
•    Ensuring all procurement activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies and managing risks associated with supply contracts and agreements
•    Ensuring the implementation of global and regional initiatives
•    Identifying opportunities to consolidate locally managed categories at the country-wide level, in alignment with the Global Procurement Policy and Global Procurement Category Management
•    Supporting the Head of Direct Procurement in the budget definition and the savings AOP Plan
•    Ensuring realization of the savings targets for the category/site
•    Negotiating contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
•    Working closely with stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and ensure alignment with overall business objectives
•    Managing, engaging and influencing key stakeholders
•    Driving continuous improvement of Direct Procurement processes 
•    Oversee the procurement process, including sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness
•    Closely collaborating with Direct Category Lead and align with their guidance

Your experience and qualifications

 

•    At least 10 years experience in Pharma Direct Procurement API / Intermediates Manufacturing 
•    Master's degree in natural sciences, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology or equivalent; MBA is an advantage.
•    Strategic thinking, strong interpersonal skills including cross-functional teamwork, and written and oral communication skills 
•    Strong negotiation skills
•    Ability to work autonomously, make decisions and resolve/follow up issues quickly
•    Ability to draw strategic insights from analysis and effectively summarize and present insights
•    Proven managerial skills
•    Interpersonal skills including cross-functional teamwork
•    Strong multi-cultural proven skills
•    Solid understanding and ability to lead contract management
•    Fluent English (both written and verbally)
