The opportunity
The Senior Director, Patient Affordability will spearhead the strategic development of affordability initiatives to enhance patient access and deliver a World-Class customer experience. This role encompasses designing and managing co-pay and voucher programs aligned with organizational goals while optimizing lifecycle strategies and ensuring compliance. The Senior Director will lead and mentor the co-pay operations team, providing technical and financial-focused coaching to enhance capabilities and broaden support across the product portfolio for Innovative Medicines, Biosimilars and Generics. Responsibilities include identifying efficiencies in co-pay operations, establishing performance metrics, and collaborating with brand and Insights & Analytics teams on gross-to-net (GTN) strategies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate robust leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with proven expertise in affordability programs. This job primarily involves frequent visits to external vendors for face-to-face interactions, vendor quarterly business reviews (QBRs), meetings and relationship building with cross-functional partners.
How you’ll spend your day
- Lead the development of the Patient Affordability Strategy for Teva brands through the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Lifecycle planning processes.
- Responsible for developing affordability strategies including business plans, budgets and operational processes.
- Oversee co-pay/voucher programs, financial analysis, program reporting, and escalation processes across the entire product portfolio.
- Design co-pay/voucher strategies to support overarching Teva objectives.
- Implement innovative approaches to increase efficiency in co-pay/voucher operations.
- Manage all existing vendor relationships within approved budget in compliance with Teva SOW/MSA processes.
- Provide reliable data and reporting, strategic analysis and insight generation from program metrics.
- Consult and provide strategic support with brand and Insights & Analytics teams, including on gross-to-net (GTN) projections.
- Develop and manage copay/voucher budget, allocating resources effectively to meet program goals.
- Act as subject matter expert for financial and budgeting processes and develop related knowledge within the existing team.
- Lead, mentor and provide guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
Your experience and qualifications
Education/Certification/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- A minimum of ten years of direct experience in affordability, with five or more years of senior management experience in healthcare or related area of business required
- Affordability experience, with demonstrated success of designing, building, managing and transitioning programs
- A minimum of five years of vendor management/contract management experience preferred
- Experience in managing branded and generic programs, biosimiliars experience preferred
- Extensive experience in operating collaboratively with cross functional partners in a matrix organization

- Extensive content knowledge of pharmacy affordability and co-pay plans, processes, and strategies.

- Proven understanding of the AOP process, financials, POs and budgets.

Travel Requirements: Approximately 30-50% travel throughout the US, which may include weekend and overnight.
