Job Description

Head of Patient Advocacy will lead the development and implementation of the US Medical Affairs Patient’s Advocacy plans for both Teva Specialty and Generics businesses.  This includes development of strategy for both areas of focus ( with initial prioritization of Specialty business) and aligning strategies and brand respective TAs (Therapy Ares) with Professional Medical Societies, Patient Advocacy Groups as well as relevant Health Care Organizations and policy constituents.   The ideal candidate is a strategic, self-starter with experience in Patient Advocacy field, ideally leadership role, with knowledge of key stakeholders and ability to drive new, relevant stakeholder engagement in alignment with Teva’s strategic priorities in the United States. Candidate should have strong leadership and communication skills and track record in partnership with key organizations within the scope of this role, and demonstrate ability to effectively influence, while operating in a lean, fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Create sustainable long-term relationships, engagement and collaboration with key external stakeholders, relevant medical societies, patient advocacy groups, policy makers, etc., supporting both US Specialty and Generics business. 
  • develops and execute strategies for participation at prioritized national and regional meetings in respective TAs, in collaboration with brands and key stakeholders.
  • Integrated external and internal communication plans for the US Specialty and Generics portfolio ( in prioritized and focused manner)
  • Establish a strong alliance with US Business leaders, US Medical Affairs, Global Marketing, Legal and Compliance to plan and execute programs
  • Organizational point person to the top academic, clinical and research Centers of Excellence in the US within respective therapy areas.
  • Organizational point to US professional societies and patient advocacy organizations relating to respective therapy areas.
  • Complete compliance and legal approval applications for all formal engagement with stakeholders outside the organization.
  • Secure relevant sponsorship opportunities that align with Teva portfolio and strategy in the United States.


Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered. 

Qualifications/Required Experience

  • Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Business, Pharmacy or Life Sciences)
  • Minimum of 10 Years of pharmaceutical experience, including customer facing experience 
  • Minimum of 5 Years of patient advocacy or thought leader liaison experience
  • Experience with engaging KOLs, Advocacy groups and Professional Medical Societies 


Experience Preferred

  • Education Preferred: PhD, MBA or Master’s Degree 
  • Successful pre-launch and launch experience
  • Therapeutic area expertise in US 



  • Strategic thinker who is also accustomed to working in a hands-on manner to accomplish multiple priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships as well as influence employees at all level
  • Strong communication skills, strategic thinking, teamwork and collaboration capabilities teamwork 
  • Demonstrated success engaging both internal and external stakeholders, leading or influencing cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage external agencies, vendors and allocated budget


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Approximately 40% domestic travel throughout the US.
