Who we are
The opportunity
We are looking for a dynamic and strategic executive to lead the Global Procurement Organization for R&D at Teva. This leader will be a critical business partner to the R&D leadership team and will lead a team of 10 to develop and implement strategic initiatives to deliver speed, quality and total cost optimization through our supply base and in collaboration with the R&D organization.
This leader must be experienced in Pharmaceutical R&D categories with a track record of developing deep and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer, this leader will also contribute to the as a member of the leadership team to delivering the Global Procurement Transformation and other enterprise goals.
How you’ll spend your day
- Collaborate with the Senior Vice President, Chief Procurement Officer and Global Procurement leadership team in the development and implementation of global and regional R&D Procurement goals.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with Senior R&D Leadership and other cross functional stakeholders to develop strategic initiatives aligned to the organization’s goals.
- Develop category strategies that establish long term plans to ensure best in class costs, quality, service levels and risk mitigation across the R&D supplier portfolio.
- Conduct supply market research to provide category intelligence and benchmarks on industry dynamics, trends, and best practices to inform strategies and advise R&D stakeholders.
- Act as a liaison between Global Procurement and R&D for any transversal category needs (Consulting, Meetings, Staff Augmentation, etc..).
- Develop a high performing team and develop succession plans.
- Guide cross-functional teams in the application of the Sourcing Management Process.
- Oversee all sourcing activities for the team, including directing and approving competitive bidding (RFx) processes. Review, advise, and approve complex RFx documentation issued by the team.
- Effectively communicate the impact of sourcing decisions.
- Develop effective supplier negotiation plans and strategies.
- Implement Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Programs with key suppliers to foster innovation, track performance metrics, and ensure ongoing continuous improvement.
- Interface directly with Finance to plan and document value and P&L impact.
- Drive compliance in line with the Global Procurement Policy.
- Advance Teva Culture for the Global Procurement Team.
- Establish and communicate Procurement Job performance standards and identify training and development needs.
The person in this role will sit out of our Parsippany, NJ office in a hybrid work environment
Your experience and qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree with a major or concentration in Business Administration, Finance, or Supply Chain.
- MBA and/or relevant certification is preferred, e.g., Six Sigma, CPM, CPP.
- Minimum of 12 years of work experience in an international company with progressive leadership roles, and at least 5 years in R&D Procurement leadership role.

- Excellent supplier negotiation and conflict management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple simultaneous projects, and deliver quantifiable results.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal – the ability to gain executive support.
- Strong Interpersonal/Relationship Management Skills, ability to mentor, manage, and develop staff as well as manage/develop suppliers.
- Strong analytical skills and conceptual thinking that drives strategy and creates innovative options.
- Solid business judgment, able to anticipate the impact of decisions and initiatives.
- Superior financial modelling and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with spoken and written English.
- Travel Requirements – International: 20%.
Compensation Data
The annual starting salary for this position is between $213,00- $280,770 annually. Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
