The opportunity
Teva has made a commitment to be a leader in biosimilars. The position takes leadership over US inline and pipeline biosimilar brands, customer strategies for the entire portfolio and pipeline, pricing strategies, financial and planning processes, pipeline selection, and policy work. The position supports brand management on ongoing launches. The position is expected to drive efforts ensuring a sustainable and profitable biosimilars business at Teva. The Senior Director Strategy and Planning works with internal Teva colleagues, market access, trade and specialty pharmacy, sales, finance, forecasting and insights to manage inline biosimilars and prepare future biosimilar launches.
This position is based in the Parsippany, NJ office.
How you’ll spend your day
Go-To-Market Strategy Leadership for Biosimilars
- Collaborates brand management to establish go-to-market models for launches focusing on customer specific strategies identifying and strategizing for future sources of business.
- Collaborates with customer facing teams’ leadership (including market access, GPO, trade, specialty pharmacy, and IDN) on an ongoing basis to facilitate brand strategy execution and reports learnings back to the wider biosimilars marketing team for strategic adjustments.
- Leads collaboration efforts across all commercial customer facing teams ensuring pricing strategy compliance to achieve short term and long-term financial objectives.
- Collaborates closely with market access teams on payer strategy and pull through.
- Collaborates with trade teams on specialty pharmacy strategy with focus on interchangeability.
Pricing Strategy Leadership for Biosimilars
- Develops pricing strategies for future biosimilar launches across medical and pharmacy benefit in collaboration with launch and pipeline leadership, market access and account management.
- Is an expert on customer economics and ensures relevant insights are incorporated into go-to-market strategies.
- Collaborates with finance and market access in regards to 340b with a strong understanding of the 340b space and ability to strategize around value maximization for biosimilars in the space.
Inline Portfolio Leadership for Biosimilars
- Leads inline brand management for TRUXIMA and HERZUMA, two oncology buy-and-bill biosimilars
- Collaborates on marketing plan and tactics with marketing operations for TRUXIMA and HERZUMA
- Accelerate the launch uptake of both SIMLANDI and SELARSDI as payers act against the innovator
Pipeline Portfolio Leadership for Biosimilars
- Leads pipeline management including bEylea, bProlia, bXgeva, bSimponi, bXolair and several undisclosed biosimilar targets.
- Collaborates on brand strategies with global on internal developments.
- Develops market insights, customer insights and competitive insights for all future biosimilar targets with focus on nearer term opportunities.
Biosimilar Planning efforts
- Leads financial planning processes (LRP, AOP, RF1-4) for the biosimilar portfolio
Other Strategic Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the matrix biosimilars marketing team as well as with the wider cross-functional team to deliver on set objectives.
- Supports market research to enable future launches and support inline products in collaboration with the insights team, analyzes market data and information and makes informed decisions.
- Leads Business Development assessments for future biosimilar products.
- Understands and stays up to date with biosimilar policy matters and supports Teva’s government affairs teams in driving policy changes as well as collaborates with other biosimilars marketing leaders incorporating key policy (e.g. IRA).
- Leads strategic projects on biosimilars.
- Aligns organizationally and individually with internal and external codes of conduct.
- Collaborates with Teva’s global biosimilars team on strategic matters.
Your experience and qualifications
Education/Certification/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- A minimum of 15 years of pharmaceutical experience or equivalent experience required
- A minumum of 7 years of pharmaceutical marketing or payer access experience required
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in biosimilars as well as market access, both pharmacy and medical benefit, are required to succeed in the role.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Strong pharmaceutical industry and therapeutic area business acumen
- Strong understanding of the medical and pharmacy benefit market access landscape
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage and coordinated projects with multiple internal stakeholders
- Ability to cope with uncertainty and deliver innovative solutions to new problems
- Ability to build solid cross-functional relationships and work with all levels within an organization
- Self-starter with a “take charge” attitude and the ability to work with minimal direction

- Ability to meet objectives and deadlines, promote efficiency and effectiveness, and incorporate improvements and program return on investment (ROI)
- Excellent verbal, written, organization and interpersonal skills required
- Versed in MS Office tools including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
Travel Requirements:
Approximately 30% domestic travel throughout the US.
Compensation Data
The annual starting salary for this position is between $232,000 – 304,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
