Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The position is responsible for leading a small advanced analytics team within Sales Operations to support the U.S. brand leadership and their teams in creating analytics to help improve the strategy and tactics of the marketing and sales organization.
This position is responsible for transforming data into meaningful, action oriented business insight towards optimizing resource utilization and revenue.
Business knowledge, project management skills and analytical expertise are critical to continuously assess and improve tactics to insure sales and marketing are performing optimally.
Strong experience in project management, an understanding of analytics, and an ability to apply analytics to a real world setting with data.
Knowledge of advanced analytics, data mining techniques, and information systems will be key to executing projects and mentoring analysts.  

ESSENTIAL AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Lead the Advanced Field Analytics team in setting priorities, planning, developing and delivering commercial projects requiring advanced analytics; function as a working manager or “player/coach” fostering an environment of career growth & development. 
  • Provide commercial recommendations as a strategic partner with leaders in Marketing, Sales, Managed Markets and Finance based on analytical insights. 
  • Partner with the Global Insights & Multi-channel Analytics to ensure that Field Analytics are used effectively to address knowledge gaps for the portfolio of brands and to insure a more complete picture of marketing execution and customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with Sales Planning team as needed to support Sales Force targeting, Call Planning, and Resource Optimization, using internal or external resources.
  • Identify appropriate 3rd party data sources, where necessary, in order to improve the quality of analyses. 
  • Other projects, development, and duties as required/assigned including following Teva Safety, Health, Compliance, and Environmental policies and procedures.
     

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered. 

  • Education/Certification/Experience:
  • Minimum of 7 years of Commercial Analytics (pharmaceutical preferred), Sales Effectiveness, Pharmaceutical Marketing, or similar experience in a Corporate or Line of Business function
  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred.
  • Prefer a minimum of 7 years in Branded Pharmaceuticals Commercial Analytics or related roles and 2+ years of people management experience within these functions

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of SAS required (Base, Graph, Stat, Macro, ODS), expert skills in SQL and experience in using databases from within SAS.  Proficient in BI platforms such as Qlik, Tableau, Etc. for analysis as well as Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend statistical methods and advanced quantitative models appropriate for the strategic business challenge or opportunity 
  • Deep knowledge of channel level data used in HCP and DTC marketing within the pharmaceutical industry. (i.e. Experience working with large syndicated sub-national data sets such as Xponent, Xponent Plantrak, and DDD as well as claims and internal data sets like sales force call activity)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Highly effective at presenting complex, technical information, concepts, and analysis in a compelling and persuasive manner to non-technical audiences
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical syndicated data, i.e. IQVIA (IMS Health), Symphony Health, Specialty Pharmacies


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Approximately 5% domestic travel throughout the US and Canada.
