Job Description
Under the supervision of the Senior Vice President, General Counsel - Global Litigation, the Senior Director, Litigation will manage government and internal investigations and related criminal and civil litigation. Additionally, this role may manage a variety of complex commercial and other litigation matters. Furthermore, this role may manage attorneys, paralegals and/or professionals supporting essential litigation functions. Finally, this role shall partner with Finance, Communications, Compliance, Internal Audit and other commercial business units, as well as assisting the Compliance Office of Business Integrity in complex investigations as needed.
- Manage government investigations, internal investigations, complex commercial, and related litigation in the United States and other countries in a variety of areas. Relevant statutes include the Anti-Kickback Statute, federal and state False Claims Acts, state consumer protection acts, among others. Responsibilities include managing litigation and discovery strategies, building processes and programs to effectively and efficiently manage the costs of defense and the risk of loss in connection with these cases as well as management of external counsel.
- Provide legal support and advice to Teva business units, including Compliance Office of Business Integrity and Internal Audit organizations, regarding sales promotion and marketing practices, government enforcement trends, and risk mitigation strategies. Assist with and support internal global compliance and integrity investigations, and potential claims and criminal and civil litigation that may arise from compliance and business integrity issues. Supervise the work of external counsel, auditors and investigators in these internal investigation matters
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from a nationally recognized and ABA accredited law school.
- Admitted in good standing to the bar of at least one state and eligible for admission to the New Jersey bar as in-house counsel
- Minimum of 10 years of combined experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, federal or state prosecutor’s office, state attorney general’s office
- and/or other government agency in which the candidate led investigations of complex organizations.
- Significant criminal and/or civil first chair jury trial experience.

- Minimum of 8 years of experience conducting criminal or civil investigations as a U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutor or conducting internal investigations or handling white collar defense matters with a law firm, with a preference for candidates with knowledge and experience concerning the Anti-Kickback Statute, the False Claims Act, and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
- Minimum of 2 years managing attorneys, paralegals, or other professionals.
- Experience and familiarity with the pharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred.
