Job Description

 

Primary responsibility will be leading the Employee Relations COE (Center of Excellence) within Teva Human Resources.  This position will be responsible for managing complex employee relations investigations and processes and ensuring consistent application of Teva policies.  This employee will serve as the subject matter expert for employee relations issues and applicable Teva policies.  This role will also provide Human Resource support other to selected Teva business groups and participate in HR projects as needed.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for all aspects of complex employee relations investigations and resolution of ER matters
  • Serves as a consultant to management on employee coaching & counseling, progressive discipline, investigations and exits related to performance, code of conduct & policy violations
  • Serves as a liaison between management and specialist areas for workers compensation, leaves of absence and fleet violations; gathers information to support decision making in compliance with company policies and local regulations
  • Partners closely with HR Ops & Services and COEs to interpret HR policies and processes related to employee relations
  • Work closely with Corporate Compliance to ensure employment actions are aligned with compliance policies and processes
  • Provide training for HR colleagues and management regarding employee relations processes and policies as necessary
  • Provide general HR partner support to assigned Teva business groups
  • Manage all aspects of HR engagement with assigned Teva business groups including talent acquisition, performance management, organization design, talent development, and other day to day HR support as needed
  • Provides employee and management, coaching and counseling with objectivity and professionalism in dealing with sensitive issues
  • May lead other HR processes such as decisions/processes concerning promotions, compensation adjustments, transfers, terminations, recruitment and staffing
  • May support other HR projects, priorities and initiatives as needed
  • May supervise other employees responsible for employee relations work

Qualifications

 

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field
  • Generally has 5+ years of HR experience in a business facing role with a significant emphasis on employee relations
  • Knowledge of US employment law
  • Expertise in processes for employee counseling, investigations, separations
  • Experience as an HR partner supporting a business group
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical or medical device industry a plus

 

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

 

  • Previous experience supervising others.  Experience working in a COE based Human Resources model.  Prior experience in pharmaceutical, medical device or related industry.

  • Experience developing and/or working in a COE based Human Resources model.
  • Able to navigate in a highly matrixed work environment.
  • Strong project management skills required
  • Change management skills and experience required
  • Other required skills include a strong business understanding, basic organizational consulting skills and strong analytical and communication skills (oral and written). 
  • Experience coaching managers on employee relations
  • Strong knowledge of US employment law and how to mitigate risk
  • Comfort in providing constructive feedback to managers about their people manager skills
  • Ability to provide coaching and direction to others
