The Director – BD/NPI Business Partner & Strategic Sourcing is responsible for leading and executing strategic sourcing and contracting activities across assigned External Manufacturing (EXM) initiatives led through Teva’s Business Development and R&D organizations. This role plays a key part in shaping procurements upstream engagement with Business Development and R&D, supporting both top and bottom needs within the enterprise. This leaders will need to strengthen sourcing discipline within a developing procurement organization.
Reporting to the Senior Director – EXM Business Partner & Category Lead, this role operates as a hands-on sourcing leader, translating business strategies and business requirements into RFx events, negotiations, and contracts. The Director will help establish consistent sourcing approaches, improve execution rigor, and build credibility with stakeholders and suppliers. The focus of this role will be to support in-licensing ventures with CMO’s; acquisition and divestment of assets that operate within the External Manufacturing umbrella.
This role is well suited for a sourcing professional who is comfortable developing strategic relationships with stakeholders and owning execution, navigating ambiguity, and helping build structure and consistency in a lower-maturity procurement environment.

How You’ll Spend Your Day
Strategic Sourcing & Commercial Execution
- Lead strategic sourcing activities for BD/NPI initiatives, including RFx, negotiations, and supplier selection.
- Drive commercial discussions with suppliers on pricing, capacity, and key commercial terms.
- Support contract development, review, and execution in partnership with Legal and cross‑functional teams.
- Ensure sourcing decisions balance cost, quality, capacity, service, and risk.
Value Delivery & Performance Tracking
- Deliver measurable sourcing value and support annual savings and value targets.
- Track sourcing actions, outcomes, and benefits using standard tools and templates.
- Partner with Finance to support value validation and reporting as required.
Supplier Engagement & Market Insight
- Lead procurement-related due diligence assessments supporting BD go/no-go decisions.
- Engage suppliers through structured sourcing and onboarding processes.
- Provide supplier and market insights to inform category strategies and BD planning.
- Resolve sourcing-related supplier issues and support asset onboarding/divestment where applicable.
Risk, Compliance & Quality Alignment
- Identify and mitigate sourcing, commercial, and supply risks (e.g., capacity, single sourcing).
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing to ensure feasible and compliant sourcing outcomes.
Stakeholder Partnership
- Act as a strategic business partner to BD and R&D, pulling Procurement upstream to shape decisions.
- Collaborate closely with Category Managers and cross-functional stakeholders to execute sourcing initiatives.
- Communicate sourcing plans, progress, and outcomes clearly and proactively.
Process & Capability Development
- Apply and strengthen standard sourcing processes, tools, and ways of working.
- Contribute to the development of sourcing playbooks and team capabilities.
- Identify opportunities to improve sourcing efficiency, consistency, and execution discipline.
Your Skills and Experience
Experience & Expertise
- Demonstrated experience working upstream with BD/R&D organizations in a business partnering capacity
- Demonstrated experience executing strategic sourcing and contracting activities, preferably within External Manufacturing or regulated industries.
- Working knowledge of sourcing and negotiation practices.
- Experience supporting savings delivery and sourcing value initiatives.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environments preferred.

Education
- Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or
- Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of relevant experience, or
- Associate’s degree with 9+ years of relevant experience
Some experience leading sourcing initiatives or projects required.
Salary Range
The annual starting salary for this position is between $161,200 – $201,500 annually. Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate
