The Director, US Enterprise and Engagement Communications at Teva Pharmaceuticals leads the development and execution of an integrated communication strategy to drive employee engagement around the company’s purpose and performance goals. The communications leader in this role serves as a strategic partner to US business leaders to oversee planning and execution of employee engagement communications that build leadership, strengthen culture and drive performance. The person in this position will be responsible for driving US enterprise communications around Teva’s Pivot to Growth strategy for leaders, employees, and external audiences. This communications leader will play a pivotal role in translating company growth and managing reputational matters across business, products and policy to enable and empower leaders to effectively communicate with teams and external constituents. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in organizational and executive communications rooted in public relations and corporate communications for the US market with a global pharmaceutical company.
Location: This is a hybrid position (3 days/week in office) based in Parsippany, NJ.
How You’ll Spend Your Day
- Responsible for planning and execution of routine executive and US enterprise communications, e.g., town halls; organizational announcements; culture, performance and strategy updates; US editorial planning and content development.
- Represents US business and keeps interests of Teva’s global business units with US presence top of mind in global corporate communications initiatives, including strategy, purpose and people initiatives.
- Develops, executes and manages communication programming to enable and empower leaders to lead and engage teams in driving forward the company’s Pivot to Growth strategy, connect to Teva’s purpose, strengthen culture, and inspire and motivate.
- Actively engages and collaborates with business partners across the value chain to manage issues and processes related to communication around anticipated reputational risks and unexpected issues, e.g., regulatory actions, policy matters, litigation, etc.
- Builds deep understanding of Teva’s people, business, footprint, distribution channels and portfolio to apply knowledge, sensitivities and insights into issues management and unraveling challenges.
- Serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing counsel on communicating about business performance and emerging issues.
- Designs, monitors and analyzes communication performance metrics to assess effectiveness and continuously refine strategies.
- Ensures all communications comply with regulatory requirements and reflect respect, compassion and integrity.
Your Skills and Experience
Education/Certification/Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in communications/writing/journalism/marketing or a life sciences discipline; advanced degree or certification in communications, journalism, digital media or leadership a plus.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical communications working in corporate communications, brand reputation, executive communications or media relations.
- A combination of in-house corporate communications and agency experience preferred.
- Experience in both internal and external communications preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to story tell and convey news across a variety of channels for multiple audiences in fit-for-purpose and channel-appropriate ways.
- Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms to create content for various communication channels; adept with social media and practiced with AI platforms.
- Excels in strategic editorial and communication planning and goal-setting with clear metrics of success.
- Pharmaceutical communications experience, understanding importance of compliance with promotional regulations and familiarity with pharmaceutical value chain from discovery to distribution.
- Recognizes the relationship between leadership and engagement communications and reputation management.
- Skilled in issues management and crisis response.
- Highly motivated, well organized, creative and innovative with strong prioritization and time management skills.
- Team player, able to influence in a matrixed environment. Comfortable with change and able to drive forward in an environment where there is ambiguity.
- Strong leadership skills, with ability to engage and collaborate across multi-functional teams.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- International and domestic travel should be expected up to 10% of the time.

Frequent:
- Sitting for extended periods of time at workstation or using mobile equipment
- Using fingers to perform activities such as typing
Visual Acuity:
- Close visual acuity to perform activities such as computer work, preparing and analyzing data and extensive reading.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Work will be conducted mainly in an office environment
Salary Range
The annual starting salary for this position is between $156,560 - $195,700 annually. Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
