The opportunity

The Director, US Commercial Data Harmonization & Governance will lead a new Commercial Operations function to create governance procedures for data purchases, storage, harmonization, governance, and access across all Teva U.S. Commercial departments including U.S. Commercial Leadership, Brand Management, Multi-Channel Management, Sales & Sales Operations, Forecasting & Insights, Patient Services, Specialty Pharmacy, Market Access, Generics & Biosimilars, Trade & Supply Chain, IT, and others. This role will lead a small team in the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive data map and data dictionary for all U.S. Commercial data assets to deliver increased visibility and harmonization of data and the identification and resolution of data gaps to provide best in class data driven operations, reporting, analytics, and insights. The role will leverage the expertise of internal SMEs and data owners from across the organization to create a cohesive data plan that harmonizes and enhances Teva’s commercial data assets.

 

This role requires an in-depth understanding of cross-functional commercial pharmaceutical datasets & metrics including their limitations, use cases, and connectivity to commercial functions.  Experience with and functional knowledge of 3rd party data sources is required.  This includes data from IQVIA, Symphony, Specialty Pharmacy, Payer Claims, SAP, HER, EMR, and other publicly available sources.

 

The Director, US Commercial Data Harmonization & Governance will be expected to advise and partner with all levels of leadership across the organization and will therefore require a high degree of skill in the areas of business acumen, change management, written and verbal communications, and cross-functional collaboration in addition to a thorough understanding of the complexities and stakeholders within the US pharmaceutical commercial marketplace. 

 

*This is a hybrid role based out of our Parsippany, NJ office.

How you’ll spend your day

  • Data Strategy & Roadmap
    • Responsible for developing the overall data strategy to harmonize internal data assets with the acquisition & utilization of third-party data to meet critical business needs.
    • Responsible for leading cross functional efforts of internal subject matter experts to evaluate data options and create a comprehensive data roadmap that addresses critical data gaps and eliminates data redundancies.
    • Identifying standards for where, how and with who each data element or KPI will be shared.
    • Mapping each datasets lifecycle from use case identification to data acquisition to usage to expiration 
  • Data Management
    • Working with stakeholders to create & maintain a comprehensive data dictionary for all standard data sets that will define important metrics and associated business rules for specific KPIs; creating one version of the truth
    • Provide access & visibility to the data dictionary across the organization
    • Partner with business and technical IT stakeholders to assess data management capabilities and create a technical roadmap to improve data onboarding, management, access, and visibility.
    • Act as the primary business partner with IT to develop a comprehensive commercial data architecture, integration, and infrastructure to organize Teva’s diverse commercial data assets and improve access & visibility to data
  • Data Governance
    • Develop data governance roles, responsibilities, SOPs/policies for data acquisition & usage  
    • Develop standard metrics to track data quality and utilization throughout the data lifecycle
    • Provide appropriate controls for access to financial, patient, or other sensitive and protected information.

Your experience and qualifications


Education/Certification/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably focused in business, information sciences, or a related analytical field
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience required, experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Healthcare industry strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years working in an Operations/Analytical/Data Management Role required.
  • Previous people management experience is preferred
  • Prior experience working with standard Pharmaceutical data and data sets is required

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Approximately 5-10% travel throughout the US, which may include weekend and overnight and periodic international travel.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Use a computer (including participating in face to face video calls/meetings camera)
  • Sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Travel as required, which may include travel by car, train, or plane
  • Occasional bending and/or twisting

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed on site visits (i.e. safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.).
