The Director, Managed Care Payer Data & Analytics is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the analytics that drive payer contracting strategy, negotiation, performance monitoring, and financial optimization. This position leads the development and delivery of actionable insights, models, and reporting that inform contract negotiations and revenue forecasting. The Director will partner closely with Contract Development, Account Management, Payer Marketing and Finance to ensure that payer agreements align with organizational strategies and financial objectives.  This position will have direct reports and support Teva’s Branded and Biosimilar portfolio.

 

Location: This is a hybrid opportunity that can be based out of our Parsippany, NJ or West Chester, PA offices.

How you’ll spend your day

  • Lead the design, development, and execution of analytical models and tools to support payer contract negotiations, renewals, and performance management 
  • Evaluate new technologies and approaches to refine pre and post-deal analyses and process 
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations based on analysis of reimbursement models, utilization trends, cost structures, and market benchmarks 
  • Develop ROI analyses for new and existing payer agreements  
  • Create and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reporting frameworks that track contract performance, payer mix, rates, and other KPIs 
  • Support financial modeling for contract scenarios, negotiations including emerging and innovative payment models and concepts 
  • Lead and develop a talented team focused on payer contracting analytics 
  • Develop standard processes and best practices for data management, reporting, and analytics delivery 
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure robust data infrastructure for payer contracting analytics 
  • Monitor industry and regulatory changes impacting reimbursement methodologies and payer trends (HCR, IRA, for example) 
  • Present findings, recommendations, and strategic insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders 
  • Work cross-functionally with Account Management, Contract Development, Payer Marketing, Pricing, Finance, Legal, and other cross-functional groups to gain alignment on customer bids toward fully execute contracts  
  • Partner with Finance, Revenue Optimization and Contract Compliance (ROCC), and other necessary cross-functional partners to ensure accurate rebate and discount forecasts 

Your experience and qualifications

Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.  

 

Education/Certification/Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA or equivalent preferred 
  • Minimum 10 years of Brand Pharmaceutical Pricing and Contracting, healthcare analytics or equivalent related experience 
  • Minimum 4 years of leadership experience in managing a team in an analytics or strategy-focuses role 
  • Deep knowledge of the Commercial and Government National/Regional Payer contracting landscape, including experience modeling pharmacy, medical and value-based structures and agreements 
  • Expert in advanced analytical tools and platforms  

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: 

  • Strong financial acumen, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate insights into business impacts and actionable next steps 
  • Understanding of Pharmacy and Medical Benefits, including Government Pricing (Best Price, ASP, AMP, URA, for example) 
  • Highly organized and time management skills; self-motivated with a strong customer service focus that’s well-suited for a fast-paced environment 
  • Understanding of U.S. regulations and policies relating to manufacturer contracting 

 

 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS 

 

  • Approximately 5 – 10% domestic travel throughout the US.

Occasional: 

  • Sitting for extended periods of time at workstation or mobile equipment. 

 

Visual Acuity: 

  • Perform activities such as computer work, preparing and analyzing data, and extensive reading. 

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT 

 

  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed on site visits (i.e. safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.).
