Job Description

The Senior Director, Associate General Counsel, Employment Labor, and Benefits role reports directly to the  SVP, General Counsel, NA Commercial and TGO.  This position serves as the lead legal resource for all employment, labor, and benefits matter in the US with additional responsibility for employment-related, cross-border matters and global project teams.  


This role partners principally with others in the Legal Department as well as Human Resources, Compliance and Ethics, Operations, Commercial, and Security Operations to provide legal support essential to their respective short- and long-term business functions and address, plan for, and/or resolve various and complex employment, labor, and benefits issues relating to the US workforce.  This role prepares and provides trainings and updates to management (and, occasionally, larger audiences) on developing legal matters, HR best practices, and similar matters.  Additionally, this role assists all U.S. business units with day-to-day employee relations issues. Knowledge of U.S. immigration law is a plus.


This role collaborates with attorneys and other professionals inside and outside of the U.S. who possess certain subject matter expertise to ensure all legal matters are assessed and handled capably.  


  • J.D from a top tier law school required
  • Minimum of 15 years prior experience at law firm and/or in-house legal department 
  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience
  • Admission to practice in Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey bar required
  • Develop and execute strategic direction related to all legal matters impacting Teva’s US workforce.     
  • Counsel business on employee relations, dispute resolution, and litigation avoidance.    
  • Manage all US-based employment and benefits litigations, union relationships and bargaining, and administrative agency investigations relating to like topics.    
  • Manage legal budget and ensure alignment with financial targets.    
  • Manage outside counsel who provide services in support of this role.    
  • Transactional Support on divestitures, acquisitions, and joint ventures as they relate to employment, labor, and benefits.
  • Provide trainings to management and employees on emerging and/or hot legal topics    
  • Follows Teva Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures
  • Other projects and duties as required/assigned

  • Up to 33% travel, including international, as needed
