The opportunity

This position will manage Specialty Pharmacies and is accountable for the patient and doctor experience in working with the pharmacy to have patients appropriately starting and staying on TEVA therapies.  The Associate Director of Specialty Pharmacy Operations will be responsible for establishing Operational metrics in the pharmacies and holding the Specialty Pharmacies accountable to high performance standards.  This position will coordinate/manage cross functional teams that include TEVA and pharmacy personnel, and leverage pharmacy data insights to create and execute operational plans to meet the needs of patients and doctors.  Each plan will be pharmacy specific, and this role will need to understand and know how to appropriately impact each operational metric in partnership with the pharmacies.  The Associate Director of Specialty Pharmacy Operations will also need to understand the details & dynamics of high performing pharmacies and leverage learnings to manage/partner with pharmacies who have lower operational performance.   This role is non-promotional and will not have access to PHI.  The Associate Director of Specialty Pharmacy Operations must be able to work with all parts of the TEVA organization including Sales/Marketing/Analytics to create and execute the TEVA strategy within the pharmacies.  This individual will have the ability to plan/facilitate pharmacy specific weekly operational calls and quarterly business reviews that go in depth on the pharmacies dynamics and performance.   

How you’ll spend your day

  • Develop and implement SP strategies and operational efficiencies including Data Contracts and Enhanced Services
  • Effectively manage SPs handling challenges and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Monitor SP performance and ensure contractual obligations are met
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and prepare materials
  • Collaborate with Reimbursement and Market Access teams to understand and assist with pulling through payer wins
  • Ensure SPs data meet service level expectations for data quality: timeliness, completeness and accuracy
  • Work with data aggregator and internal partners to validate data and ensure accuracy
  • Guide analytical stakeholders to build/determine pharmacy performance in key metrics and understand what is impacting them
  • Ensure compliance with company, regulatory, and legal policies
  • Provide feedback and set expectations for pharmacies that are not performing well and build improvement plans when needed
  • Communicate product performance, challenges, and trends with internal partners
  • Maintain internal communication with relevant functional areas/personnel, and document account-level insights to establish institutional knowledge
  • Provide support and educate on non-promotional processes and procedures including Financial Support and Shared Solutions (Copay, Free Drug, Open Enrollment)
  • Coordinate as appropriate with Patient Support Service team with regards to education on Prior Authorization process at the HCP and local pharmacy level 
  • Utilizes networks to inform current and future direction of specific pharmacies
  • Creates and communicates clear vision and spots unidentified business opportunities within specialty pharmacies
  • Utilizes data insights and analysis to identify key segments, business drivers, priorities and growth opportunities within specialty pharmacies.
  • Meets objectives and deadlines, promotes efficiency and effectiveness, and incorporates improvement
  • Inspires and supports culture that innovates thinking and risk taking.
  • Takes initiative beyond own area, draws insights from variety of sources and understands market and competition.
     

Your experience and qualifications

Education / Certification / Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required / Certified Clinician or master’s degree a plus
  • A minimum of 7 years experience supporting patients 
  • Understanding of Pharmacy Operational Models / Experience working for or with a pharmacy to support patients 
  • Experience leading cross functional teams
  • Past experience presenting to high level leadership groups 
  • Experience launching new products operationally a plus

 
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

  • High content knowledge of pharmacy operations, public and private insurance plans, medical and pharmacy benefits. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven leader with outstanding decision-making capability
  • Ability to motivate at a high level and positively impact an urgent environment

  • Able to provide insights in forums related to the performance of pharmacies and “tell an accurate story”

  • Continually evaluates the trends and benchmarks of Key Specialty pharmacy partners and evaluates tactic changes that might be needed to optimize the patient experience
  • Capable of negotiating difficult contract situations to an effective solution

 

Travel Requirements:
Approximately 35%-40% travel throughout the US
 

Compensation

The annual starting salary for this position is between $181,890 – $222,310 annually.  Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
