We’re looking for an experienced, business‑savvy Associate Director, Legal Generalist to join our U.S. Legal team and provide strategic counsel across a wide range of commercial, operational, and corporate matters.
This is a highly visible role supporting leaders across Teva’s U.S. and global operations, ideal for a seasoned attorney who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys partnering closely with the business.
The Associate Director, Legal Generalist will provide legal counsel on transactions, commercial contracts, and legal compliance. This role supports a broad portfolio of business units, including procurement, M&A, business development, alliance management, real estate, finance, QA/QC, HR, EHS, global facilities, government affairs, internal audit, logistics and distribution, customs/import‑export, and generic biopharm.
How You’ll Spend Your Day
- Draft, negotiate, and review a wide range of commercial agreements, including licensing, supply, development, sourcing, quality, clinical trial, technology services, distribution, consulting, confidentiality, and divestiture agreements.
- Partner with business units to ensure agreements align with operational needs and strategic objectives.
- Advise management on contractual, financial, and legal risks, and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with international, federal, state, and local laws applicable to Teva’s operations.
- Support the VP, General Counsel, TGO – Americas in enhancing legal processes, policies, and best practices.
Your Skills and Experience
- JD from an ABA‑accredited law school.
- 7+ years of experience in transactional/contract law; pharmaceutical experience strongly preferred.
- Member in good standing of a state bar (New Jersey preferred).
- Ability to analyze complex legal documents and identify key issues.
- Strong conceptual thinking to understand how issues interrelate and impact broader business decisions.
- Skilled at defining problems, gathering facts, drawing conclusions, and developing creative, business‑aligned solutions.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
Salary Range
The annual starting salary for this position is between $172,160 – $215,200 annually. Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
