Job Description

The Global Procurement Travel Category Head manages and leads the Travel global category within the Global Procurement organization. The Travel category includes engagement with all Teva Travel activity in direct coordination with the Global Travel operations organization.  The Global Category Management (GCM) strives to generate and deliver ongoing value through year-over-year savings/cost avoidance and to ensure the supply of category services for Teva.  In addition the role will be responsible for Sourcing all travel agency, air and hotel related services for Teva globally which amounts to approximately $71M in spend. 

  • Set global category strategy with aggressive targets aligned with global procurement and business needs, and challenge and review it on a regular basis
  • Create global execution plan for global category, and present both plan and strategy to internal customers and the Global Group Lead for endorsement
  • Lead Global Travel Category Management
  • Provide expert-level category knowledge, with knowledge of the supply base and global market (prices and practices)
  • With key stakeholders drive the development of project execution guidelines, practices, and project execution tools to drive efficient and effective project implementation
  • Solicit input from global and regional site procurement and regional operations to develop understanding of sub-category and regional differences
  • Drive rigorous implementation of prioritized initiatives
  • Monitor and explore external trends and factors that impact category strategy, security of supply, costs, etc. via regular interaction with operations team and professional forums
  • Own and manage supplier relationships within category, undertaking and delegating supplier performance improvement actions as required
  • Represent the category and sub-categories at global meetings as appropriate
  • Challenge and push team to achieve aggressive savings targets, and share best practices and wins, across sub-categories and regions, and within category group

 

Qualifications

Experience

  • Leadership or management experience: 10+ years of management
  • Procurement experience: 8+ years of procurement
  • Travel Procurement experience preferred: 5+ years
  • Pharma industry experience preferred
  • Professional certification in purchasing or supply chain is desirable, e.g. from ISM (CPSM, CSM, CPM), from APICS (CPIM, CIRM), from EPIM, etc.
     

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required - Supply chain, materials mgmt., purchasing, business or engineering major is desirable
