The opportunity

Directly supporting the Teva’s Data Science & Commercial Analytics, the Associate Director, Data Science will be responsible for developing AI/ML models to support US Commercial across all business units: including Innovative Medicines, Generics, Finance, Supply Chain, and Human Resources etc.  

 

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with US Commercial business leaders to advance data-driven decision-making by leveraging internal and external datasets, building AI/ML models, and delivering actionable insights. The role is critical to leading the design, development, and deployment of advanced solutions to drive strategic growth, operational efficiency, and financial performance.   

How you’ll spend your day

  • The ideal candidate will closely work with the unit leaders and business partners to deliver analytical solutions that enable informed decision-making. 
  • Lead a team of 2-4 data scientists 
  • Drive business value through data science and advanced analytics initiatives 
  • Design and manage complex analytical projects, breaking down complex business problems into multiple independent and sequential phases of analysis 
  • Evaluate internal and external datasets to assess their strengths and limitations 
  • Determine optimal analytical methodologies, models, and algorithms, and develop best-in-class solutions 
  • Extract actionable insights from data and present findings to key internal stakeholders and senior management 
  • Deploy ML models in production and integrate them into core business processes 
  • Monitor model performance and implement necessary refinements 

Your experience and qualifications

Any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.

 

  • Master’s Degree in a highly technical/quantitative discipline (Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics) 
  • Minimum of 5 years of practical experience developing and deploying AI/ML and LLM solutions within cloud environments such as Azure 
  • At least 2 years of people management experience 
  • Advanced proficiency in Python/SQL for data manipulation, analysis and modeling 
  • Demonstrated data curiosity, analytical skills and problem-solving abilities  
  • Proficiency in bringing structure to ambiguous problems and deriving insights from multiple data and information sources 
  • Effective communication skills to translate complex concepts and analyses for both technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Strong project management skills 
  • Superior written and verbal communication abilities 
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical landscape, including both branded and generic products, and associated commercial analytical requirements 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork 
  • Capacity to adapt quickly to evolving priorities and develop innovative solutions in a dynamic, multi-tasking setting 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • PhD degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Biostatistics 
  • Relevant experience within the pharmaceutical commercial business 

 

This role is based on-site in the Parsippany, NJ office 3 days a week. 

Compensation Data

The annual starting salary for this position is between $150,000 – 197,000 annually.  Factors which may affect starting salary within this range and level of role may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
