Job Description

The Sr Manager, Transportation will support the US/Canada region in a new function and will be responsible for all export shipments out of the region. Those shipments are coming from our Pharma & Api sites in US and Canada, Research and Development Centers, and our regional Contract Manufacturing Organizations. The incumbent is to be a house of excellence for all international logistics activities in the region, supporting the above-mentioned stakeholders. This strategic and operational function is a critical part for Teva’s Global Transportation Team and reports directly to Head of Global Transportation. The person will operate very closely with counterparts from other regions and become a part of a team of 4 regional heads within Teva Global Transportation. The person will sit in our offices in North Wales PA and work in close collaboration with our US/CA import and distribution teams in that location. The incumbent will implement and uphold best logistics practices and global Teva Transportation standards and ensure adherence of all stakeholders with the solid goal to continuously improve compliance, service, cost and sustainability on shipments from the region. 


We are looking for a person who can enrich our team with their own experience and leadership skills, understand and adapt to the logistic network of the largest medical cabinet of this world and help it to improve it onwards. The successful candidate will join a large Global Transportation Team from other regions with very good opportunities to make a significant impact in our huge and complex network.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage transportation out of the region on a daily basis. 
  • Communicate on all known supply risks and interruptions into region and work with logistic partners and internal stakeholders on best solutions and mitigations.   
  • Lead changes, educate and support our stakeholders, simplify our processes towards global standards.
  • Collaborate with US Customs and Compliance team and US/CA local DC & distribution team; work closely with counterparts from Israel, Europe and APAC/India Transportation Centers.
  • Enforce and improve documentation handling of any sort, LoC (Letter of Credit) handling, COAs (Certificates of Analysis, Certificate of Conformity), narcotic export/import licenses.
  • Ensure correct handling of invoicing to markets, and logistics invoicing into US/CA as needed.
  • Monitor insurance and claim governance out of the US/CA to Teva's Insurance brokers.
  • Oversee and manage the investigations of our LSPs (Logistic Service Providers) on transportation events and timely CAPAs (Corrective and Preventive Actions). 
  • Book some volumes of the regional transport, CMOs, sites and other smaller sites as required.  Oversee the corrective booking of sites where done locally.
  • Manage our LSPs in region, drive improvements in their work and ensure adherence to their commitments to Teva in regards to compliance, service, and cost. 
  • Drive compliance improvements and adhere to GDP standards (Good Distribution Practices).
  • Drive improvements in service to our commercial stakeholders and manufacturing sites.
  • Drive cost improvements within the network.
     


 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor‘s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in international logistics and/or supply chain on a global level required; experience from pharmaceutical or life science multinationals, or from pharmaceutical / life science forwarding preferred.
  • Understanding of regional Pharmaceutical footprint and capabilities of Logistic Service Providers preferred.
  • Professional certifications in Supply Chain is preferred e.g. from APICS (CSCP). 
  • Experience with MS Office Suite and general computer literacy required.
  • Ability to provide leadership, mentorship and direction to direct reports as well as strong ability to influence team members from cross-functional departments to meet corporate goals.
  • Experience with multinational companies preferred. 
  • Experience with Supply Chain and logistic concepts, Lead Logistic Providers, (Logistic Control Towers) / Experience with ERP (Oracle/SAP), WMS (Manhattan) and WCS systems preferred.
