Job Description


Teva R&D is looking for a senior talent to lead the biosimilar cell bank unit and its activities.

Primary purpose and function of this position is to lead and manage the cell bank preparation unit and be the global focal point to all related cell banking activities.

Major duties and responsibilities

  • Be in charge of the group who does the preparation, testing and approval of mammalian cell banks for biopharmaceutical manufacturing
  • Lead execution of experiments using cell culture methodologies, within time constraints, while following adequate documentation practices
  • Collaborate with other functions and individuals at the biosimilar development team, and with other TEVA units across the globe (CLD, QA, RA etc.)
  • Be the owner of summarizing and presenting activities, progress and achievements in various forums including management
  • Own and write scientific documents: protocols, reports and SOPs, according to industry practices and GMP guidelines
  • Be on top of current regulations in the field of mammalian cell banks
  • Support submissions and correspondences with regulatory authority
  • Be on top of relevant technologies in the field of cell banking and cryopreservation. Evaluate novel technologies and integrate the relevant ones into our  processes



  • Ph.D in life sciences / biotechnology
  • Proven knowledge and experience  in manufacturing and cryopreserving  mammalian cell-lines or relevant fields.
  • At least 4 years’ experience in the biopharmaceuticals industry.
  • Proven managerial experience of at least 2 years
  • Ability to serve as a global focal point and present unit activities
  • Knowledge in GLP / GMP guidelines
    Good team work capabilities
    Fluent in Hebrew & English - reading and writing
