Job Description

This role is responsible for providing scientific/medical leadership and support for product(s) in the therapeutic area of responsibility (Biosimilars and Immunology). He or she leads a team of field based medical colleagues (MSLs) and defines local medical strategic planning aligned with the strategic imperatives defined with strategic partners in Marketing, Market Access, Sales and Regulatory Affairs.

The Associate Director represents Medical Affairs in strategic discussions regarding lifecycle management, health economics/outcomes research (HEOR) planning, and works closely with regional and global Medical Directors to ensure alignment between global and regional medical strategies.

This position entails two aspects: a role of Medical Advisor in Biosimilars and Immunolgy and a role of leading Medical Information for all Teva Canada (generic and specialty sides).

Medical Advisor role

  • Responsible for medical and scientific support to pre-launch and commercialized products in Rheumatology & Gastroenterology therapeutic areas (TAs)
  • Develops medical strategy; designs and implements key initiatives which would align with the objectives of the business unit
  • Develops Medical Operating Plan, designs Phase IV clinical studies and serves as Clinical Lead during the implementation of those studies, in cooperation with R&D, Global Clinical Operational teams, and HEOR personnel at Teva, including interface with clinical investigators and third parties as appropriate
  • Contributes to the budgetary processes as part of business planning, tracks and manages expenses within his/her operating plan
  • Participates in clinical proposal decision processes for studies involving Canada, including review of proposals and protocols of studies, supporting R&D, operational and health economics/outcomes teams
  • Serve as “go to” functional liaison within cross-functional business teams developing work plans and overall business strategy for Rheumatology and Gastroenterology
  • Serves as an internal medical/scientific resource to Medical Education, HEOR, and Regulatory Affairs
  • Builds relationships and partnerships with external medical experts and centers of academic excellence in Canada


Medical Information Lead role

  • Lead Medical Information at Teva Canada for both for specialty and generic products
  • Ensure processes in place are both efficient and compliant
  • Manage third party service provider to ensure high quality delivery of services for all Teva Canada products.
  • Manage appropriately budgets allocated to Medical Information in line with forecasts
  • Represent Teva Canada at regional and global activities for Medical information


  • Advanced scientific degree (M.D., Ph.D., Pharm D.) with a minimum of 3 years work experience post degree
  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in Medical Affairs / Clinical Operations
  • Experience in Rheumatology and or Gastroenterology
  • Experience in scientific data dissemination (oral presentations, abstracts, publications)
  • Experience in Medical Information function or related activities
  • Proven track-record of successfully working across functions in a matrix environment with strong ability to influence and manage teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to foster team spirit and a positive working environment
  • Flexibility and creativity while facing hurdles, always keeping a positive attitude
  • Bilingual: fluent in French and English
