The opportunity

As a key member of the Spanish leadership team, the Senior Director of Market Access will lead the market access functions for generic products, biosimilars, and innovative medicines in Spain. This role requires a dynamic leader with a proven history in strategic mindset, market access, growth initiatives, and people management. This position possesses an understanding of organizational objectives and aligns resources appropriately to meet those objectives. While in pursuit of goal achievement, this person upholds the culture and values of Teva in all interactions and business matters.

How you’ll spend your day

  • Develop and implement market access strategies for Innovative, biosimilar, and generic medicines, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Oversee the development of pricing and reimbursement strategies to optimize market access.
  • Lead and manage the market access team, leveraging expertise across innovative medicines, biosimilars, and generics. This includes incorporating health economics to justify the evidence and value of products.
  • Collaborate with international HEOR and clinical teams to generate robust evidence supporting product value and report back on additional data needs.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and compliance within the team.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including commercial, medical, regulatory, and global market access teams, to ensure cohesive strategy execution.
  • Ensure local market access requirements are integrated into global development plans.
  • Develop and execute strategies to influence healthcare policies and regulations at both national and regional levels.
  • Represent the organization in interactions with government bodies, trade associations, and other external stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including public and private payers, policymakers, healthcare providers, and industry associations.
  • Incorporate stakeholder insights into market access strategies.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational goals.

Your experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience (minimum 15 years) in the pharmaceutical industry especially focused on market access, pricing and reimbursement, particularly with innovative medicines.
  • Strong understanding of the dynamics between global organizations and local teams, including planning cycles and business operations.
  • Ability to build and effectively maintain strong, mutually beneficial networks/relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and possesses impactful and influential communication and presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Spanish healthcare system, including federal and provincial regulatory environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interpret and present complex information to executive audiences. Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Strong business acumen and financial literacy.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
