How You’ll Spend Your Day

  • The planner/buyer team leader is responsible for ensuring stable material supply to secure supply according to stock coverage, safety stocks and delivery dates and is responsible to plan and purchase components (like API, Artwork, Bulk etc.) for the production site;
  • Ownership of the MRP and Goods Receipt;
  • Daily routines: Monitors and maintains purchase orders ensuring the timely delivery of materials to support customer and manufacturing requirements. Adjusts POs and scheduling agreements according to current situation (quantities and/or dates). Releases POs and scheduling agreements to vendor;
  • Monthly routines: Adapts procurement plan according to production plan (e.g. update and firm purchase requisitions). Selects proper source of supply according to the existing procurement strategy. Converts purchase requisitions into purchase orders or scheduling agreements. Provides vendor forecast;
  • Identifies any long-term material availability issues with internal and 3rd party vendors;
  • Ensures strong communication with purchasing e.g. in case of pricing;
  • Analyzes and maintains optimal inventory levels;
  • Sets up and maintains ERP parameters related to planning and procurement (MOQ, order multipliers, supplier lead time, planning time fence, etc.);
  • Supports portfolio and project management for projects like launches, transfer, or material changes through defining and monitoring bridging stocks;
  • Works with Production Planning to make sure material availability supports the manufacturing and packaging plans;
  • Ensures that all work carried out is in compliance with the required standards conforming to company – e.g. cGMP, SOP, Health and Safety and Environmental requirements;
  • Responsible for training and qualification of Supply Chain Planner/Buyer personnel and ensures that the required training is carried out and adapted according to need;
  • Leads, staffs, and develops a motivated, skilled and optimally resourced team to ensure that performance levels and professional development achieve or exceed business objectives;
  • Proposes and implements continuous improvements.

Your Skills and Experience

  • University degree in Business Administration/Economics or similar;
  • 4+ years professional experience in Planning or Purchasing department;
  • Highly team orientated;
  • Experience in working with strict deadlines with high attention to details;
  • Excellent communication skills in an international environment;
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP and BI;
  • Customer orientation
  • Strong multi-tasking capabilities; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently;
  • Capable of presenting information to all levels of management with supporting analysis under tight deadlines;
  • Participation and leadership in cross functional projects;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
