Our Team, Your Impact

The Finance & Insights Manager is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, analytical insight, and strong finance business partnering support to the organisation. The role combines financial governance, performance management, and strategic decision support to enable informed decision-making, drive sustainable business performance, and ensure compliance with statutory and corporate requirements.

How You’ll Spend Your Day

  • People Leadership and Capability Development
    • Lead, manage, coach, and develop finance team members with a focus on analytical and
      strategic capability.
    • Foster a high‑performance, collaborative team culture with a strong focus on accuracy,
      accountability, and continuous improvement.
    • Support knowledge sharing, upskilling, and adoption of best-practice finance methodologies.
  • Financial Leadership and Governance
    • Drive finance operations, including month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes,
      ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timely reporting.
    • Review and approve journals, balance sheet reconciliations, income statements, and
      supporting schedules.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and corporate reporting requirements.
    • Prepare annual financial statements and manage external audit processes, including BEE
      audits where applicable.
    • Maintain strong internal controls and adherence to group finance policies and accounting
      standards.
  • Strategic Financial Planning and Performance Management
    • Lead and support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes in alignment
      with business strategy.
    • Prepare and present quarterly financial results and executive-level presentations.
    • Analyze financial performance against budget, forecast, and prior periods, identifying risks,
      opportunities, and improvement areas.
    • Provide detailed variance analysis, scenario modelling, and business performance insights to
      senior stakeholders.
  • Business Partnering and Decision Support
    • Act as a trusted finance business partner to commercial, operational, and functional leaders.
    • Provide financial insight, challenge, and recommendations to support strategic initiatives and
      decision-making.
    • Support pricing, product profitability, and product P&L analysis.
    • Assist senior leadership with ad hoc financial analysis, strategic projects, and corporate
      finance requests.
  • Tax, Statutory and Regulatory Compliance
    • Review VAT returns and oversee the preparation and submission of provisional and annual
      tax returns.
    • Ensure compliance with SARS requirements and manage correspondence and queries.
    • Oversee statutory filings, including CIPC annual returns.
    • Support transfer pricing processes, including annual calculations, true-ups, and
      documentation.
  • Corporate and Group Reporting
    • Review and submit balance sheet and income statement reporting to corporate.
    • Prepare highlights memos and technical summaries for accounting and tax matters.
    • Engage with corporate accounting teams on policy interpretation, implementation, and
      compliance matters.
    • Support internal audits and other corporate reviews as required
  • Systems, Processes and Continuous Improvement
    • Maintain and enhance finance systems, including account mapping and version roll-overs for
      budgeting and forecasting cycles.
    • Drive process improvements and efficiencies within finance operations and reporting.
    • Support finance transformation initiatives and analytics enhancements.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ management experience in a finance leadership role.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry (advantageous)
  • Strong commercial and marketing finance experience.
  • Experience in financial analysis, modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Experience in month-end processes and tax reporting within a multinational environment.
  • Exposure to transfer pricing in an inventory-based environment (advantageous).
  • Exposure to finance systems such as Sage and Cognos (advantageous).
