1st Shift Tues-Sat 6am-2:30pm

2nd Shift Sun-Thurs 2pm-10:30pm

3rd Shift Tues-Sat 10pm-6:30am



Teva is searching for a Maintenance Tech III (Production) to join our team in Irvine!

As a Maintenance Tech, you are responsible for repairing, diagnosing/troubleshooting, and general maintenance of mechanical and electrical production equipment.

This role provides troubleshooting and maintenance support on technically sophisticated process machinery including sterilizers, washers, fillers, cappers, depyrogenation systems and associated equipment. This position will require knowledge of steam, pneumatic, power transmission systems, clean steam systems, vacuum systems, and CIP/SIP systems.

This role directly affects the acceptability of the finished product and the ability to produce pharmaceutical solutions or lyophilized product.

You will:

  • Be responsible for all production related electrical and mechanical installation, equipment optimization, effective/efficient equipment operation electronic systems, and preventive maintenance. Perform & complete unscheduled repairs when necessary to offset downtime and production delays.
  • Complete and understand training requirements as identified by the Maintenance Manager/Group leader and/or the Teva training department. This includes all SOPs referring to the production or facilities equipment, maintenance documentation procedures, safety, cGMPs and equipment operational parameter SOPs.
  • Be responsible for understanding and review of the proper use of maintenance documentation required under cGMPs (Maintenance Work Order system, TrackWise, Preventative Maintenance Documentation forms, SOP documentation, and the use of Equipment Log Books).
  • Complete assignments in a timely manner from detailed engineering drawings, specifications, logic diagrams, schematics, verbal and written instruction.
  • Initiate and process purchase requisitions for equipment requirement, and obtain Group Leader approval of all requisitions.
  • Participate in projects with vendors and suppliers. These projects involve close coordination and supervision with the responsible Group Leader, Supervisor, and Manager, along with the Engineering, QA/QC and Validation departments.
  • Monitor the work of outside contractors when installing, repairing or investigating equipment within the facility.
  • Be available for emergency callbacks / call-ins as required and be flexible toward work hours including holidays or plant shutdown periods.
  • Schedule and organize work methods, procure materials and parts, and maintain a file of equipment records and manuals.
  • Follow Teva Safety, Health, and Environmental policies and procedures, adhering to safety codes and guidelines for yourself and others throughout the plant. This requires adhering to safety procedures and to avoid situations, which could lead to chemical and steam burns, reactions to toxic fumes and moving equipment that could result in injury.


  • High school / GED education or equivalent experience required. A.A. or A.S. degree, military or vocational courses in areas such as electrical, mechanical, control loop systems, instrumentation, and welding preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanic or technician required. 7 years preferred.
  • Pharma, Food or Nutraceutical industry experience a plus.
  • Experience in repair, installation, maintenance and modifications to production equipment required.
  • Knowledge of facility utility systems such as boilers, RO systems, chillers, WFI distribution systems, cooling towers, HVAC systems a plus.
  • Strong Electrical knowledge including demonstrated understanding of single and three phase power component troubleshooting and safe servicing maintenance techniques preferred.
  • Computer skills including: Windows XP, Excel, Word required.
  • Comfortable using software such as: CMMS/EAM, or other inventory systems required
  • Effective oral/written communication skills in English with the ability to interface with all levels of personnel.
  • Ability to occasionally lift loads up to 50 lbs. required
  • Ability to operate a forklift and other heavy equipment such as scissor lifts strongly preferred.
