Job Description

 

Teva is searching for a Chemist II to join our team in Irvine!

 

The Chemist II role requires the ability to work in a fast paced Quality Control laboratory.  Proficiency performing wet chemistry and analytical testing required.  This role is responsible hand-on testing, preparation of solutions and reagents, analysis of samples and interpretation/reporting of data.  

 

You will:

 

• Perform routine QC testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished product and stability samples.
• Utilize wet chemistry techniques (USP/EP/JP) and various analytical instruments (For example: HPLC, IR, UV, GC, Hunter Color, Osmometer, IC, AA)
• Provide support for non-routine testing include but not limited to cleaning verifications, investigations, new product studies.
• Partner with colleagues within Quality Control to manage expected timelines.
• Communicate and document results clearly and contemporaneously. 
• Raise challenges to laboratory leadership timely.
• Complete training requirements and maintain current training status.
• Participate in weekly calibrations and troubleshooting of instruments.
• Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, Federal and local laws

Qualifications

 

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Chemistry, or equivalent education
• 5 years relevant progressive experience in a GMP Quality Control environment required
• 3 years of pharmaceutical experience
• Working knowledge of cGMP and other applicable industry regulatory requirements as they relate to the production of pharmaceutical products and associated quality systems required.
• Experience with LIMS, Empower, ChemStation and Chromeleon.  (LabWare LIMS and/or Empower) preferred.
• Working knowledge of analytical instrumentation and strong understanding of method validation requirements.
• Understanding of the principles of analytical chemistry as it applies to HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis and other general analytical techniques and compendia.
• Computer proficiency with comprehensive working knowledge of MS Office products, Learning Management Systems (LMS), ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle and manufacturing/quality systems such as LIMS, TrackWise.
• Ability to effectively document a process and work performed.
