Job Description

 

Teva is searching for a Senior Manager, Maintenance Excellence to join our EMU team in Irvine, CA!

The Senior Manager, Maintenance Excellence will lead and manage a small, agile team focused on reducing equipment downtime, extending critical asset life, and partnering with our Maintenance and Engineering staff to work efficiently and effectively while contributing to our site’s commitment to inspection readiness.

You will be responsible for driving the overarching Maintenance Excellence program, including reliability, commissioning, planning and equipment qualification / validation. You and your team will educate our associates on the benefits of pursuing best practices and the various roles they can play in supporting this model, and focus on the following key elements to ensure Teva-Irvine becomes a top performer. 

In this role you will:

  • Design, communicate, implement and drive continuous improvement to align with our Asset Reliability vision and team charter, including maintenance and reliability strategies.
  • Lead your team to achieving all identified goals and objectives.
  • Measure, communicate and coach your team in Teva’s performance management process.
  • Set the Strategic Direction with input from the site Engineering director on areas such as:
    • Overseeing the development of site M&R best practices
    • Managing the execution of a site M&R best practices gap assessment
    • Prioritizing recommendations from the assessment and developing a mitigating timeline
    • Measuring the improvement implementations and communicate progress
  • Oversee the Reliability Engineering effort at the Irvine site, ensuring required Reliability Engineering best practices are properly executed. Items which are likely to be pursued include:
    • Improving the level of equipment selection
    • Ensuring proper installation procedures and specifications/tolerances are being adhered to
    • Ensuring Precision Maintenance practices are being followed
    • Identification of critical problem equipment experiencing reoccurring failures
    • PM Optimization, Predictive Maintenance
    • Failure Modes & Effects Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance
    • Root Cause Failure Analysis, Planning & Scheduling
    • Computerized Maintenance Management System functionality and proper usage and KPI`s
    • MRO Materials Management
    • Operator Care/TPM & Culture Change
  • Lead a Team to perform Commissioning and Qualification and annual Equipment Validation Master Plan.
  • Support the site compliance efforts by the timely Management of any deviations and investigations related to cGMP practices where applicable to your team.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Bachelor’s degree; Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum Five years of experience in a cGMP pharmaceutical, or other life sciences facility.
  • Five years of previous successful people leadership experience.
  • An understanding of best practices for maintenance processes including Risk Based assessment, Total Productive Maintenance, and Reliability Based Inspections.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing/Transforming reliability programs using analytic information.
  • Familiar with commissioning and qualification of equipment in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting site audits from the FDA, EPA, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen with understanding of P&L.
  • Experience Team-building and mentoring others.
