Job Description

Teva is searching for a Maintenance Technician II – Facilities & Utilities to join our team in Irvine!

The Maintenance Technician II – Facilities & Utilities is responsible for the maintenance execution of Facilities Equipment, Plant Utilities, and Critical Utilities systems in support of manufacturing systems at the TEVA Irvine facility.  This includes City Water Pre-Treatment Systems, HVAC, Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Clean Steam Systems, Compresses Air, Vacuum and Laboratory Gas Systems, and production; all controlled temperature boxes, and house air conditioning units.
The incumbent is responsible for effective/efficient operation of the equipment along with mid-level repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance of the equipment and systems.   


You will:

• Follows Teva EHS and Quality policies and procedures. 
• Execute preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, emergency repairs and modifications/upgrades of HVAC systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems related to Facilities and Utilities equipment in support of Manufacturing schedules. 
• The incumbent must continually maintain the maintenance of equipment and documentation of that maintenance within guidelines set forth by Maintenance Management/Group Leader to comply with cGMPs.
• This position also supports monitoring the work of outside contractors when installing, repairing or investigating equipment within the facility.  Knowledge of mechanical/electrical/controls design, servicing requirements, and spare parts requirements trades is essential; including BMS systems.
• Perform Critical Systems Operations duties, troubleshoot equipment, and process problems with the ability to resolve quickly and correctly. Expedite repair through hands-on and allocating the department's physical and personnel resources.
• Performs the function of Critical Systems Operator (CSO) to monitor and document critical system utilities performance in the event the on-duty technician is not available due to vacation, illness, etc.
• Completes and understands training requirements as identified by the Maintenance Manager/Group leader and/or the Teva training department.  This includes all SOPs referring to the production or facilities equipment, maintenance documentation procedures, safety, cGMPs and equipment operational parameter SOPs.
• Ensure cGMP guidelines, safety procedures, and SOP's are followed at all times. 
• Maintain a clean work area adhering to all good housekeeping regulations. 
• Complete logbooks, PM's, and work orders and ensure all entries are complete and correct.
• Assist Maintenance management with recommendations pertaining to equipment upgrades, maintenance, enhancements, analysis of operation parameters of equipment and processes, and other requirements to support manufacturing operations.
• Support smooth execution of projects within the production and packaging areas and ensure that all system maintains their validated state
• Support the implementation of change controls and support the investigations related process equipment and systems.
• Effective communication with groups outside of maintenance, such as production, quality and technical teams
• Other duties, as assigned, or as business needs require

Qualifications

Requirements:

• High school / GED education or equivalent experience required. A.A. or A.S. degree or vocational courses in areas such as welding, HVAC, mechanics, electrical, control systems preferred.
• Proficient with cGMPs,and Good Good Documentation Practices 
• FDA-regulated industry documentation practices is desired
• Knowledge of basic computer skills is preferred.
• Familiar with maintenance electronic database packages (e.g., CMMS/EAM, etc.), inventory systems required
• Computer skills including: Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook required
• Effective oral/written communication skills in English with the ability to interface with all levels of personnel.
• Ability to lift loads up to 50 lbs.
