Job Description

As a Group Leader, Maintenance & Engineering over Facilities, you will be responsible for the reliable plant operations of facility-based assets and processes at our Irvine manufacturing site.  This key position will ensure that facility-related systems and assets function efficiently; and that maintenance work is properly planned, safely executed, and thoroughly closed out by internal resources and external contractors.  


You will:

  • Manage Facilities services for the site, including Janitorial, Space Planning, Facilities Contractors, and permits.
  • Manage the site Pest Control program, ensuring compliance with site procedures and guidelines.
  • Prioritize, plan, coordinate and schedule corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance work for the assigned maintenance areas and external service providers.  Ensure jobs are planned following Safety and Quality best practices.
  • Provide planning for corrective (non-emergency), preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance activities for the Facilities Maintenance area. Planning includes develop and clarify the scope of work, coordinate the manufacturing windows, evaluate the resource and load balancing, and the spare parts (stock and non-stock materials) associated with the job.
  • Work with outside maintenance vendors, contractors, and suppliers to provide the site with quality services.
  • Perform annual performance reviews with the Facilities Maintenance personnel.
  • Support the generation of preventive maintenance work orders; track timely completion of preventative maintenance schedule and corrective maintenance backlog.
  • Conduct and lead weekly maintenance schedule meetings with Maintenance Group Leaders, Supervisors, and Operations.  Develop weekly schedules for the maintenance team.
  • Support the planning and scheduling of facility shutdowns and projects to meet organizational objectives.
  • Manage maintenance activities and the work order backlog in the CMMS.
  • Administer and maintain the CMMS to ensure that all system data is updated, accurate, and compliant following approved procedures.
  • Work with MRO team for timely procurement and acquisition of parts needed for Facility Maintenance activities.
  • Enter requisitions in the procurement systems for goods and services as needed.
  • Track, maintain, and publish maintenance performance metrics/statistics.           
  • Mentor the Facilities Maintenance staff when conducting diagnostic/troubleshooting or RCFA activities



  • High school or equivalent education required. Associates or Bachelor degree in the Engineering field preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) years as a Maintenance Supervisor or Crew Lead required.
  • Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency in the use of a CMMS (e.g. EAM, SAP, and MAXIMO).
  • Experience working within the guidelines of a Quality Management System (e.g. Change Control, Quality Investigations) or State/County regulations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment demonstrating a customer service/servant attitude.    


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CMRP or CMRT certification.
  • Project management skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in inventory management and maintenance storerooms.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment such as Medical Device or Pharmaceutical is desirable
